Maybe the not so good news... there are still rumors that the Spectrum is behind the schedule and might not be ready in time. Hope they don´t prove to be true.

Where are the rumours coming from? Staff from the shipyard?

good questions, I can't even remember what ship Capt Arild was on.
Capt Charles and Capt Flemming will be on Spectrum. Capt.Charles is already at the Meyer Werft Shipyard as is Staff Captain Markus Alander.

Another royal staffer has confirmed on other social media that the ship will be ready for 18 April.

good catch! I got sick over the holidays...just at the time TPKeller said he would redo the Excel program to include Spectrum. So I just sent him the file today...I'll make a note that we now know that the 2 masters will be Capt's Flemming Nielsen and Charles Teige.
So we just need to know who is the Captain on Quantum, the list says Capt Teige started on 6 December?
Also, not sure if you use other social media but I run a group on this other place that starts with F that contains this list if you and TPKeller would like to join the closed group and we can share information between both channels?

Which itinerary is better for a christmas markets river cruise? Rhine or Danube? and why?
Interested in all views and opinions and why you prefer one or the other or both.
We have been on many ocean cruises and are thinking of doing a river cruise in late Nov/Dec 2020. Also would like to see many of the great castles and historical architecture down these river systems.

thank you again! Keep them coming as it gives us great confidence that the inaugural sailing from Barcelona on 18 April is on schedule!! We are from Australia and are eagerly counting down the days!! I notice you are booked on Ovation of the Seas, you will love that ship - have you cruised on her before?
I have also been sharing our photos with our closed FB group for the inaugural Spectrum sailing, I hope you don't mind?

Spectrum's first sailings are in April, so I wouldn't count on that.
To answer your question, it varies, but CD's tend to join the ship around 6-10 weeks before sailing. On Symphony, there were 2 Cruise Directors. I believe Bobby arrived end of January/early February and Michele came mid March with the first sailing being March 31st.
Understand that, so who have you heard will be the CD

Jimmy Rhodes has Quantum experience and his contract on Allure finishes early March, so he’s a possibility.

The ship is out in 4.5 months. Not at all too early.
Does the CD join the ship for sea trials? If so that will be 3 months away ... inaugural sailing is 4.5 months away!

The transfer to the North Sea is scheduled for early March, to start her sea trails! According to Meyer Werft website updates

Ken Rush did Harmony then went to Miami HQ. Bobby Brown was for Symphony. He doesn't have Quantum Class experience but if he leaves SY in March, it is possible.
I thought it would be Dru, but I guess not.
I do know of a CD who will be assigned to Spectrum at some point, but no idea if they are the takeout CD.
Who Is the CD who you know will be assigned to spectrum , please share

Royal staff have said on Instagram that she will be ready .. Capt Charles and the Staff Capt are both at Meyer Werft. Sure royal can say positive stuff for media spin but that could backfire on them, but it’s a waiting game. Check in opens in 2 days on my cruise planner and all the usual things are able to be booked on the planner for the maiden voyage. I’m staying positive that it’s go go go for 18 April from Barcelona!!
