  1. Hi everyone!  We are on this sailing as well!  Thank you DaKahuna for starting the thread and allowing us to follow along.

We arrived at Narita from our direct flight from Calgary yesterday at 4:30 pm.  It took us longer to taxi to our gate in terminal 1, than it did to go through Customs and Immigration!  We also had an unusually long wait time for our luggage to arrive to the carousel.  We managed to catch the 1740 limo bus to the Yokohama Intercontinental Grand with no issues.  It’s great to finally arrive into Yokohama as this sailing (or variation of) was originally booked in 2019…better late than never!!

We had a wonderful rest and sleep last night and already feel adjusted to the time difference.  We set out this morning with great plans to spend the day on foot in a light drizzle.  The light rain was heavy at times, and even with rain gear and being prepared, the rain won!  There are not very many days in our travels where we have had to surrender to inclement weather, but today was one of them!
I would highly recommend to others to spend more than one day in this beautiful city as there is much to see and do, even if it is raining.

  2. I would be curious to know a couple of things…

Who was looking after the Province of Newfoundland while the population was cruising?

Did they have adequate stocks of alcohol to keep up with the fun?

Were the rest of the passengers on board able to understand our favourite blend of Canadians and their unique dialect?

I think it would have been one great kitchen party!

We are on a scenic cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam starting last Monday.  We have just had a boat change which involved coach trip of over 4 hours between Vienna and Straubing.  We had been fretting about low water levels but high water necessitated change.  We are now aboard Scenic Crystal moored at Straubing and may be here another  2 nights.

I’m with you onboard!  We enjoyed our Straubing tour this morning!

How special are we?  Two ships on one sailing!

The sun is peaking through the clouds and we should be good for the rest of the cruise!

Have tried a few times to do mock bookings, However once you select a room and try to continue, get an error message every time. So can’t actually book these yet.

So still not sure what’s going on,

Seems to be a UK web issue…both the US and Canadian website are working.

The good news…the sailing date is now correct for you! 🤷🏻‍♀️

My good god. This is first ever booking with Celebrity, So far, It is terrible.

I still have not heard anything from Celebrity regarding this, So I called them again.

"sir your solstice sailing on the 19th is going ahead as planned"

I insisted she look at the website where the sailing for the 19th does not even exist.

It's an error apparently, Sailings are going ahead as normal. Not to worry.

Asked if she can open my booking then as it just shows as cancelled. She advised cannot. Went away to investigate further. Came back only to say, Sailing on the 19th is going ahead.

Not convinced I've ever had anything like this before, Guess I just rock up to the port on the 19th Feb. 😅

Looks like the correct sailings are now showing on the UK site for you now…might be worth another “chat” with someone.

I’m so sorry that you have had such a complicated first experience with your first Celebrity sailing.

Thank you for posting this Prairie Girl.  While I never received a notification of my cruise cancelation from Celebrity, I was able to call the Redeployment phone number this morning and move my canceled 12-night Mar 3, 2025 Thailand & Vietnam cruise to the 13-night March 2, 2025 cruise, keeping the same discounts, perks and cabin that I had on the original booking.  It is great to have this resolved!

    You are most welcome!

We are joining you on this sailing!  Welcome aboard!

I booked online, direct with Celebrity on this one (unusual for me). Anyone have an email or other instructions on how to rebook, "at protected rates", to the new sailings?

If you find out, please post here.

Otherwise, I'll just call and hope I get an agent that can figure this out.

Part of why I'm asking is that I've received no information from X on any of this - just the "Cancelled" notice when I login

This is what I have…Hope it helps you out!

To assist you with any changes or to rebook your guest, a special desk has been established to help you. The desk will open on Friday, January 13, 2023, and will remain open until Friday, January 27, 2023. The re-accommodation offer for your clients will be available during this time.

Thank you for sharing the email. It is confusing because it states January 2 to March 3 cancelled but you can rebook January 2 to March 2. Am I missing something?  I can’t find these on the website

    🤷🏻‍♀️

We are waiting to hear back from our TA after speaking with someone at Celebrity directly.

I suspect they have had to shift the original departure and arrival dates in the port of Singapore and it has had a domino effect in order to catch up so that the March 15, 2025 sailing resumes on the originally scheduled date.

We are unable to see anything either as nothing is posted on the website.

Perhaps we will know more tomorrow!!

  9. Looks like Celebrity is starting to inform us of the changes!

This is what I received from my TA…looks like there were scheduling conflicts in Singapore.

Naturally, these changes have yet to appear on the website!

    Happy planning everyone!

Guests currently booked on the January 2, 2025 - March 3, 2025 sailings may cancel without penalty or rebook on the below alternate sailings.

Are these price mistake cruises? I heard there were issues with pricing on some newly released cruises where they're trying to collect more money now due to pricing mistakes. Maybe it was easier to cancel them than it was to ask people to pay more money?

The cruise following ours (that is still posted on the website) is showing comparable prices.  Can’t tell you about suite class prices as we are in lower class staterooms.

Just a question...if they change any part of the cruise, i.e., itinerary, ports of call, can you cancel and get a full deposit refund?

Depends on a lot of variables so someone else might be able to answer better than me.

I would check your terms & conditions in your contract for your sailing as they can be different for different parts of the world.

Some variables might also be refundable vs non refundable deposit, full payment made, if they cancel, if you cancel etc.

The carrier can always make changes or modifications at anytime to the sailing itinerary without compensation as far as I am aware.  But, you’d definitely have to verify this by checking your contract and with a qualified source!

I know…that didn’t really answer your question and someone else might be able to reply to your query.

I've been wondering that too. Typically, when a cruise is in limbo, it just disappears from the "Find a Cruise" listings, so that no new bookings can be made.

I know…something isn’t sitting right with me!  The fact that they continue to take bookings on potentially cancelled cruises just isn’t a business practice I want to be part of.

I suspect…and this is my brain working…I think they are making a modifications to the itinerary and rather than have all those confirmed passengers carry on with the new itinerary, they are cancelling them all and going to reprice at a higher cost for rebooking.  There will be no option for all those original bookings other than to pay more!

    Just my suspicious thoughts!

I'm booked on the March 3, 2025 Thailand/Vietnam cruise that now shows in my upcoming cruises as canceled. I called Celebrity customer service again yesterday and the rep said he has no information on this cancelation.  When I inquired about moving my reservation to another date, he said I could do that, but I would lose all of my discounts and perks.  He went on to say that if Celebrity does officially cancel the cruise, I would then be allowed to transfer those discounts and perks to another cruise.

We have a hold on one of the sailings and don't want to give them a dime until we have confirmation of these cruises happening or not!
Yesterday when I had a “chat” with a Celebrity rep, he advised that everything is in “limbo” and to try and wait before putting down a deposit.  I advised him that I can’t “limbo” for very long!!

I’m so disappointed….just checked my cruise page to print my luggage tags for my February 6th Summit cruise and I noticed I had a canceled cruise … I had no idea what it was…to my surprise it was my Vietnam/Thailand cruise on the Solstice on 2/7/25…the crazy thing is my friend literally just decided to join us and deposited on Saturday….anyone know what is going on with this…has the Solstice been redeployed or chartered …is there another ship taking over the itinerary…I have gotten no notice from my TA or Celebrity…I know it is far out but still disappointed

    Well now…

We put a cabin on hold for the March 3, 2025 sailing on Sunday!

Not a mention or word about it no longer sailing from Celebrity.

Checked with our TA to change our cabin location before we pay our deposit …still cabins available and still not a word from Celebrity about it no longer sailing.

    🤷🏻‍♀️

Can anyone tell me for certain if the Jan 14, 2025 to March 3, 2025 sailings have indeed been cancelled?

Last February I started this thread because I wanted to book a cruise with Scenic, but could not get their website to work. Little did we know at that point that Scenic had fallen victim to a cyber attack.

Today, almost a year later, I find myself in the same situation. I am again trying to book a cruise, but cannot get any cruises to come up in in the cruise finder. I put in river cruise, the month I want to sail and NO cruises show up. None, Zero. I know there are cruises in April, the website will not show them!

I love Scenic once onboard(even on the ill-fated Jade cruise with the engine trouble this past April), but this is getting ridiculous.

How are we to look at, and book cruises if they can’t get their website to work?

I am so frustrated, today I started looking at other cruise lines!

I had issues with the website today as well!
I finally managed to hit the “contact us” icon and started a live chat to get an answer.  I see now that there is a notice on the bottom of the page that they are experiencing difficulties with some of their website.

I am also getting more and more frustrated dealing with them.  The end product better be worth it!!

  16. We will continue to deal with our issue...until then we will not be agreeing to the new Terms & Conditions.

What has annoyed us the most is that there was no option provided by Scenic other than the Future Cruise Voucher...believe me we tried to have a refund issued.  Our insurance would not refund cruise costs if a voucher for future travel was issued.  So, we have applied the voucher and made a replacement booking.  We continue coverage with the original insurance policy so we still have everything covered.

I guess we will see how Scenic treats us!  We understand they are a business that has to look after their best interests and these are interesting times we are currently living!  But, don’t suddenly change the rules and expect us to agree to changes made in the process!

I assume there are some aspects of the new T&C's you are not happy with. Which ones ?

On what date did you apply the FCC to the 2021 cruise?

What is the date of introduction of the 'new' T&C's ?

T&C’s have changed...doesn’t really matter which ones we are unhappy with.  Every country has different protection and coverage so it doesn’t really matter.  It sure would have made it easier if they just let us know what changes had been made instead of going through the pages and pages and then comparing them to our original terms and conditions!
FCC was applied prior to our original sailing date after notification that our sailing was suspended.

Don’t know the exact date of the new Terms...it has just been posted on our trip personalizer for review and signature.

  18. So, here is our dilemma...

Payment in full was made for a cruise that did not happen in June.

We applied our FCC to a sailing in October 2021 as our insurance would not pay out when a voucher was issued and they permitted us to carry our insurance coverage forward on the new booking.

Now, Scenic has changed their terms and conditions for us on the new punted trip.

What happens if we do not accept their new terms and conditions?  Do we effectively just loose our deposit?
    Sandra
