  1. I am trying to remember anything I can add to this commentary.

Anthem is a beautiful ship. Visually appealing, technologically advanced. That didn't really do much for us. We all agreed that we preferred the Allure cruise we took. We liked the "neighborhoods", Dh missed the Aqua Theater.

Bionic bar was interesting. Only one arm was working throughout the cruise. No one was really ever in there. Just a small handful of people at any given time.

When we went to the Welcome Aboard show, we arrived 30 min early figuring there would be a line. Nope. No lines. No one really showed up early to any of the shows we saw. The theaters never got very crowded for any of the shows we saw.

I know you can't always predict if a ship with be docked Starboard or Port, but do take into consideration that there is a Pirate Ship ( party boat) at the end of the dock. There is also a restaurant/bar not too far away. If you are sensitive to noises, this could bother you if you have a balcony that faces port ( not sure if the sound carries over to the other side). It didn't bother us at all, but it was loud enough that you did hear the music ( not clear enough to hear words, just the sounds and the beat) and the occasional screams of the partiers.

My kids tried Johnny Rockets. Everything you read is true. Slow, Slow, Slow. The first time my son tried it he just ordered a burger. it took so long he was given fries for free. All 3 of my kids said the same thing...about 30 min to get the food.

We didn't get a chance to eat in the dining rooms and we weren't as thrilled with the food as we were when we were on the Allure. . ( Carnival wins on this topic). The pizza we enjoyed on Allure, was not so appealing this time around.( actually every time we passed by the smell was sickening). The best food we ate was in Cafe 270, Izumi, Wonderland, and Solarium Bistro .

If you have older teens/ early 20's with you and they want to meet up with others their age , it seems like the casino was the place to find them. My son went to the meet and greet and no one really showed up. when we docked in Bermuda, he wanted to go off the ship in the evening but not alone. He wandered into the casino and met up with a group in his age range and ended up with them the rest of the cruise.

If I think of anything else, I will post. If you have any questions I will try and answer and I am sure there are plenty of experienced cruisers that can help with any questions as well.

  2. First and last, enjoy your cruise. If you want, you can always have room service. I get a kick out of 15-year olds, especially girls. Mine thought I was dumb as a rock. 10 years later, now she thinks i am smarter than a rock and even.....pretty cool.:)

We kept forgetting about room service this trip!! I don't know why. My son and some of his friends ordered it and he even showed us pictures, yet we still forgot!! I can't wait until my kids appreciate how smart I really am!!
