  1. I just saw both of your responses to my review and although I'm a few months late with replying, I just wanted to say thank you. I hope you love your Hawaiian adventures as much as we did!
  2. I wouldn't have wanted to miss Kauai, that's for sure!
  3. You need to be on the starboard side for the lava viewing if the ship sails south out of Hilo around to Kailua-Kona and on the port side for viewing the Na Pali coast of Kauai. Of course, if the captain spins the ship 360 degrees during the lava sail-by I suppose it wouldn't really matter. I'd go with a port balcony for Na Pali. If the lava isn't flowing you'll likely go north around the big island. Enjoy! Hawaii is amazing and the cruise itself was a lot of fun! :)
  4. Wow, your departure pictures are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful trip with us, you did an outstanding job!
  5. It's a valid negative review, and some people just can't handle that. ;)
  6. Interesting. They haven't updated their website to reflect this. From their website next to each "Brand" Courtesy shuttles are sent to the harbor from their airport location automatically Weird.
  7. We went in February 2014 and saw so many whales. You will love it!
  8. Thanks for the review! So glad you enjoyed your cruise AND Hawaii!
  9. What the...? It would be nice if you actually knew what you were talking about before you posted. As usual, you won't return to see just how wrong you are.
  10. Awesome ! I agree that people should check all options. :)
  11. We used Discount Hawaii Car Rentals in each port. Lots of others on this board have, too. Highly recommended.
  12. All caught up! Looking forward to the rest of it.
  13. I second the suggestion to stop at the Kilauea Lighthouse. It's also known as the Kilauea Wildlife Refuge. There is an entry fee of $5.00, but it's worth it. Here's a link to check out: https://www.fws.gov/refuge/kilauea_point/
  14. The POA cruise is a fun way to see the islands; we went about two and a half years ago and a great time. We rented cars at each port except for Kailua-Kona. We went through Discount Hawaii Car Rentals, couldn't have been easier. You can reserve a car without a credit card and they won't bill you until you actually pick it up. And all the major rental companies send shuttles to the ports to pick you up and then return you to port after you drop your car off. Lots of others on here have used DHCR. A google search will find it. Renting a car is an easy, less expensive way to see what you want to see. February is prime whale time, and that's when we went. We saw so many. Literally every single day. From the ship, from the shore, on our snorkel excursion when we were on Maui. Amazing experience! Echoing everyone's advice to read a few reviews. Mine's kind of old, but it's there in my sig line of you want to see it. There's some pics in it, too.
