  1. Hello - Have to pay my final payment for a cruise I booked over a year ago in Retreat. On the receipt is has daily gratuities and then it's refunded in the fare, just like the internet is; this when it was all-inclusive. However when click on the pull down for "Add-On" it shows pre-paid tips and I can remove it and it does reduce the final amount.

I am confused as the fare itself should have already included the pre-paid gratutities/tips. Before I delete this want to make sure I'm not going to be charged again on board. Any guidance?

  2. Finally got our future cruise credit 60 days later after I called and asked where it was. We did not get the full amount back (short $800), even though we cancelled 48 hours in advance. There was something in the email that said "Please know, your credit is based on the penalty amount held on your cancelled reservation".

Am I missing something? I thought it was the full amount you paid (minus the taxes) that gets applied as future cruise credit! And if anyone has a direct number to call to service department that would be great. Thanks!

  3. Just got the email for move up offer on Edge cruise in March! Some prices are pretty steep and wondering if there's anyway to put in a bid lower (not by much) than the lowest bid they allow you to do with scrolling bar? In a pretty good cabin (aft sky suite) now but an Edge Villa seems pretty enticing! Thanks

  4. Currently booked in S2 cabin but near elevator and was thinking of moving to what would be an S1 on the Edge. In looking at the pictures from the Edge Class Cabin Info thread, it appears that S1 cabins have that infinite veranda. Is that the case?

Also considering the S1 Aft but looks a bit cramped for storage although balcony is huge. Any guidance on these two questions would be great. Thanks!

  5. Just got off the Reflection and I think I remember hearing about 15+ passenger cases or so announced from a total of 1700 people on board; that's what we know though and I'm sure there were many more and does not include crew which we know there were many who either were positive or quarantined.

Our cruise director changed in the middle of the cruise, servers and hosts suddenly were not around, entertainers and DJ's were flown in at different ports to replace those who could not be with the masses. There was no production show as the dancers and entertainers were all isolated or quarantined from the week before. We have to remember that wearing a mask is not only about us, but those around us too.

With all that said, it was a great cruise. As someone who got lax by Day 3 about wearing a mask inside on the ship, I wish Celebrity had this "mandate" during our week as we could have protected, not only ourselves, but the crew and all those that work 24/7 to make sure we have a good time. By Day 6 and after the CDC announcement and not seeing crew members we were used to seeing, we got back to wearing our masks inside. It's not something I "prefer" or like, but we still got our drinks, food, most ports. ridiculously beautiful weather and more. It's a small price to pay and did not impact the experience; it was just different. Can't wait to go back end of March and if we have to wear a mask inside, we will.

  6. On the Reflection now and there are positive cases being reported everyday; not many, but more with each day on the ship (I think about 8-10 now). There are 1700 people on board, more kids/teens than usual, who for the most part do not wear masks ,and before yesterday's CDC announcement I would say only about 10-20% overall wearing masks - and there were big crowds with no distancing in the bars, atrium, etc. Now it's more like 80% wearing masks and the atrium and bar areas have been very quiet the past few nights.

We were apprehensive about coming on board but then said if we're here, we are going to enjoy ourselves and that's what we have done. At first, we wore our masks inside walking through the hallways, in the elevators and then we became lax. Since yesterday, we have them back on and it's not impacting our enjoyment whatsoever. It's all about your comfort level and to a degree "risk" taking and hopefully thinking of others as well. Don't think there is a wrong choice - its yours and important to be comfortable with whatever it is. Know it's not an easy decision and we probably would not have gone had the CDC made that announcement a week ago, but we are very glad we did sail and look forward to coming back the end of March.

Reflection was my fav S class ship until E-class, so I know what you mean.  Although, I still like the corner aft suites that are now sunset verandas.  Book if it is a great deal, but don't if you will be disappointed and always comparing.  Reflection is also a little more crowded with the extra cabins.  I have Equinox booked for Christmas of 2022, but in a sunset veranda.  The E-class ships were all shorter venues and I wanted Christmas and New Years to celebrate onboard.  All about choices and not being disappointed.  What does you gut say?

It has not been revolutionized; you are correct!

Thanks for the reply. My gut is telling me that if I do go on the reflection to save the $$$ and try to move up either before or on board for less. The retreat sundeck is what did it for me on the Edge and will be missing that "perk".

  8. Thinking about booking on the Reflection as it works with the dates I have free. Retreat seems like a good deal but think that the ship has not been "revolutionized" yet and is missing the Retreat Sundeck which we enjoyed greatly on other ships. Aside from Luminae, which we thought was very good and the lounge (which we don't use), is there anything else for guests in The Retreat on the Reflection? Thanks

We booked a Celebrity Suite for Jan 16th Edge... the move up minimums are:

    Royal Suite  - $1,400 pp

    Edge Villa  -  $2,500 pp

    Penthouse  -  $6,000 pp

    Iconic  -         $7,000 pp

I think we will wait til we sail to try and upgrade

What's the process to do this? Do you ask when you check-in and is it usually at a better rate? Thanks!

The cabin might be more private that I made it appear. I did lean out to take the photo.

The cruise is great. We love the ship. We have sailed several times a year only since 2007, second time on Silhouette. The refurbishment is great. The staff are beyond great, happy to be on the ship.
One case of covid reported by the captain, the husband and wife are quarantined. I don’t know any more than that. The ship is very clean, staff wear masks and “guests” choose whether or not to wear them, a few do. We avoid crowds, but get out and around the ship. Things feel safe, but viruses are invisible, so, while not being too paranoid, we do our best to keep out of harm’s way.
I hope you find a great cabin, and in the long run, no balcony is completely private.

Booked today and a cabin in the back aft opened up - always wanted one of those! Have a question if you wouldn't mind answering: 1) Do they offer a specialty dining package (4 or 5 restaurants) at discounted rate when you get on board? Don't see it available now, but remember we had bought on several of our cruises and came with a discounted rate. Thanks!

I can see it from my balcony, I’ll try to get a picture from the outside for you.
Plus, keep in mind all of the Silhouette cabins have been refurbished with really nice carpet, couches and bedding.
people who have actually stayed in that cabin or the one on the opposite side will have more info about what it is like to stay there and could have posted on the s-class cabin info page.

    Thanks!

  12. Booked on the Reflection for Nov 2014 and got the 123GO deal plus the Captains Club bonus points. We selected the Classic Beverage package, but wanted to see if one could upgrade to the Premium package and if so how much does that cost?

Also how far in advance do they open up the Alcoves to book? Thanks!

  13. Going on the Reflection again in November(!), but can't remember what time the ship docked in Miami the first time.

We have a choice of a 10am or 11:10am flight out of Miami...I know its not that much of a difference, but we'd prefer not to have to sit at the airport for another hour if we don't have to. We take our own luggage off the ship and could leave right away. Will that be enough time to catch a 10am flight? Thanks!
