  1. Hello,

We are currently booked on RC Allure of the Seas but she has a broken azipod and there is no word that she will be getting fixed, actually many people such as myself that are booked have questions and concerned about this and RC keeping hush.

As a result, we are figuring why go on a ship that already has existing problems and could have even more problems so we are considering the Breeze. I have a few questions hope you can help me. By the way, the only ships I would really want to cruise on Carnival (speaking from experiences) are the Dream, Magic and the Breeze. We have been on the Dream two years ago and found her to be on par with RC.

1- How is the Steakhouse is it identical to the Dreams?

2- How is the family style Italian restaurant, how is the food, service and do you recommend going here? Is it a place you would want to dine more than once at? The décor looks kind of plain any thoughts about it overall?

We ate at the Italian Restaurant 3 X 2 dinners and one lunch upon boarding.. we loved it. Huge portions and good food.

3- Do they offer daily meat carvings in the buffet?

    Yes

4- Do they have the pasta bar and how is it, I do recall the Dreams being very good.

They have pasta in the buffet and the Italian restaurant

5- What other places besides the mdr and specialty dining and buffets are there to eat?

6- What is there to eat (besides pizza and calzones, I can't have these I have to be gluten free) past 11pm? The dream at the grill had potato chips, fries, sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs, I curious if the Breeze offers these late pm.

7- I noticed that the Breeze has no grill am I correct, I noticed guys burgers or do they also have a regular grill area?

8- Does the Breeze have a live band playing late evenings? Yes in several locations we wnet to Ocean Plaza most evenings

9- I don't think that Carnival offers live bands at the pool any longer is this remain true?

    No live band DJ sometimes

10- Any postives/negatives to the lunch buffet? Do you feel there is a good variety/selection and assortment of foods? Anything real good not to be missed or bad to miss?

Good variety liked Mongolian Wok and Deli

11- How is the Cheers program if we get it are there limits to the amount of drinks we have daily and whether there are limits to the type of liquor, does it include premium brands?

Does anybody have the cheers program/liquor menu and the MDR menus?

Truly appreciate your help, honestly, hoping we do change to the Breeze it be nice going to different ports and it be nice having one extra day. We will give RC a month to come forward and put out a press release so far that has not happened and truly we feel why go on a ship that has a problem do you agree or not?

We are Diamond Plus on RCCL and I am a TA, We sailed on Oasis a couple years ago and found it just too big and having to plan all your activities before you left to avoid being shutout of shows etc a little constraining... We sail quite often and we really liked Breeze. We liked the 8 day itinerary as it got you to the Southern Caribbean without the expense of flying to San Juan.

  2. I brought back the following:

    Several Ulu from Anchorage

Jewelry made by an Alaskan artist

Fabric kit for pillow from Denali

Yarn and more Yarn from Sea Side Yarns in Juneau... hand dyed and spun in Alaska

Handcrafted glacier soaps from Glacier Smoothies in Juneau

Children's books about Alaska written by Alaskan authors

Christmas ornaments made by Alaskan artists

And 2000 pictures and just as many memories!

  3. We are just back from cruise and stayed one night at Blue HOrizon on Robson. We loved it, nice neighborhood, lots to see and do great restaurants. Clean clean and large rooms with balconies overlooking the city. very safe. Picked it because the hop on hop off stops at the door. And we paid $200.00 per night with taxes.....

  4. We were in KW for Thanksgiving... in the past we have used Old Town Trolley... I think they are about the same except... CV has a schedule of departures and OTT seems to run continuously. CV does not go way out of town to the commercial district. We rode the route 2 times getting off at the Southern Most Point on round one because the driver's speaker wasn't working and we could not hear..... we then got off at Conch Republic and walked along the docks back to the ship.

  5. We are headed for our 3rd visit to KW and in the past have gone with the Old Town Trolley and had a good experience... this time we are going to give the Cityview a try..... like that they don't take you all the way out to the commercial district which is not necessary..... we will get off at the Butterfly place and then get back on and still have time to walk Duval Street....

Get some lunch and do some shopping! Bought tickets on line

  6. Ok.

Just got off the ship and felt compelled to write about this. LOL ..now I am stealing secrets...I didn't discover these but I thought I would put them all together....

Aft Deck 11 and 12....Go to the end of the hallway...either side...and you will get to the decks above the aqua class suites....AMAZING views and always EMPTY!!!!!

BOW Deck 14...Go LEFT young man...and then right when you hit the stateroom hallway....you will get to the front deck that spans the entire ship above both sides of the bridge. Amazing views and not crowded until Tuesday when the people in the solarium figure out how to get there. hehehehe GO GO GO.

Beef on Weck...Park Cafe...talked much here..but I have to add my OMG OMG OMG I ate at least a dozen over the week...OMG OMG...Heaven on a plate.

If you are an adult male...and self conscious...go at 5pm to the Carousel..No one is there and you can take a spin without anyone seeing you...trust me..secretly inside...you will be happy. Pick a nice horse and enjoy the ride.

Don't miss the pretzel dogs in the cafe by the flowriders....mushy inside ...pretzely outside and the dog is perfectly cooked.

Ask if REBECCA is in the ICE SHOW doing her Sand paintings. You will cry or at least be in total awe. I was close to her during the show and could see her hands....I did not believe my eyes....WOW WOW WOW

Art.....I got sucked into the moment. I can't believe I did...I bought a PETRI DISH...If you are not sure...wait during the week as for my cruise....there were plenty of Petri dishes....even though I was told they were lucky to get 10 a week...if that...and that they would sell out quickly....maybe that does happen...but not on my cruise....they were nice of course....If you want to know about the Petri Dishes...go into the PORT Hallway into the Casino. Amazing.... By the way..FIND SOME FRIENDS and buy more than one and get a BIG discount!!!! Then split them up and write whoever bought them for your group a check...save tons of money.

Viking Crown is not to be missed...Ask for Gabriella before you sit and order a Choclatini. You will thank me later. Tell her to make it the way she likes it... by the way...the VC lounge runs 3 specials during the week. the best is the buy one get one free martini night....mmmmmmmm

Johnnie Rockets made to order eggs...Ask for Homer ....and ask for whatever you want for breakfast...they will figure it out if they have the ingredients...

NEVER crowded and your breakfast will be served piping hot!!!!!

we had a ton of kids...so smart they are as I give them credit for figuring this trick...evidently if you are on level 3....the DOWN button has priority...SO if you want to go UP...press down....get on the elevator...and then press your HIGHER Floor number...and VOILA' you immediately go up and laugh at the people you left behind.

More to come later. I have to take a nap.

Can you explain the Petri dish thing.... I went to the artists page ... howmuch are they and do you have to go somewhere special to buy them? How does it work... they are beautiful...

  7. We booked Gerry for November 22. Our plan is to have him take us to Paradise Beach for an hour or so and then tour the other side. We arrive at 11AM so maybe swimming and a drink at PB and then we are off and hope to have lunch at Coconuts!

  8. Marie -- I'm obviously not Tom, but email the driver at the Email address in the post right above yours to find out if he is available. Someone named "Mike" handles the Emails and will answer regarding Gerardo's (Gerry's) availability that day. Enjoy your trip!!!

Thanx for your response I have already talked to Mike... the problem is we wnat to spend a couple hours at PB then do a tour and this is the response form Mike

Unfortunately, due to taxi union rules, pre-arranged tours only have a 2 hour window in which the participants can be picked up at the pier.

I emailed him back and said what if you pick us up at PB instead haven't heard yet....

  9. OK guys. Just talked to one of the cab drivers that I've gotten to know over the years here at PB and he'll take you wherever you want to go! He's got a Ford Focus stationwagon with ice-cold air. Gerardo speaks very good English and charges $80USD for 3 hours and $20USD for each additional hour. Let me know if you want to book him and he'll meet you at the pier...

    Hello Tom...

It's Marie (Quiltsnh) we are coming back to Cozumel in Nov 08 specifically on Nov 22. The ship docks from 12-9 We are hoping to come to PB for a couple hours then hire a driver to take us on a tour (3 hours) as we have never really seen the island because we love PB so much. In the above thread you mentioned a driver are his serves still avail?

    Marie

PS we have come 2x with some kids from SPecial Olympics! Maybe you remember.

  10. I would like to see the following:

    1. Better enforcement of the no diapers in the pool rule....

    2. Menu changes on a regular basis. If you cruise more than once a year menus are the same.

    3. More snack type stuff in the Windjammer in the afternoon.... cheese crackers, dips, nachos that type of stuff.

    4. No charge for the coffee in Latitudes.

    5. More Radiance, Voyager and Freedom class... no mass crowd Genisis class.

  11. Yes, I believe that you can book with just one name as long as that person on the form goes on the cruise. Just book as a single booking and tell them that you do not know who else will be cruising with you. You can ask for certificates to be given to family and friends as long as they are all going on the same cruise. They have up to 30 days to book the cruise.

NextCruise bookings can only be made while on a ship and are obtained through the Loyalty Ambassador who is actually the Future Cruise Consultant. Once the form is filled out you can designate that it is to be transferred to your TA. Make sure that you have your TA's name and address when filling out the form.

    Hope this helps.

So the friends and family has to be booked with in 30 days of when I book?

Making sure i have the TA nnam and address isn't a problem as I am the TA and I am still confused LOL!!!!!

  12. Thanx for posting... I will purchase a next cruise in a couple weeks while on board Majesty... to be used in April 09 on Liberty. If I pay 100.00 for a certificate it can be used for 3 in a cabin right? Or do I pay 300.00...

Also the Friends and Family certs that are given to those sailing with me....

I am confused at the statement that the Loyalty agents are the only shoreside agents... they can't be used and applied by a local TA?

    Thanx
