american just changed our flights to 8:55 a.m. I'm traveling by myself with my 8 year old twins. We've been there twice so we are familiar with the process. Should i definitely insist on a change to a later flight?
yes

You can do the new HOHO ($) by City Sightseeing or use the free trolly up to the forts or just walk around a bit in town. Regardless just enjoy.
Forgot about both of those....THANKS!

I know everyone's idea of "fun" is different, but please just post your ideas and experiences in San Juan. I feel like I have to get off the ship. It's just me and my spouse ( two men). We do not drink. I am not looking to eat at a restaurant. Last time we were there, we did the segway tour, which was awesome.
We just want to spend a few hours doing anything, and then go back to the ship for dinner. We are fairly active...so it can be anything from totally sedate to strenuous...just something!
THANKS!
Paul

Our experience on Celebrity post Noro cruise (similar to this on - 7 or more days at sea before arriving in the States) was awful. It took nearly a week for things to reappear in the stateroom - only had the remote control on the first day, we didn't get into the cabin unit 7pm the first night, and the library was emptied, we could not use any of the serving utensils on the buffet. I guess they did their best, but we always refer to that as the Noro cruise...

Thanks for the review. I have always said a vacation/cruise is what you make it. Making the best of it is the key. If someone has a miserable time, generally it is their own fault. Why pay so much and grip about every little thing??
If you want ALL the comforts of home...STAY HOME. The rest of us will enjoy exploring and traveling, while making the best of it.

No. fortunately I have a really sharp wit, and and if anyone ever commented to me or my spouse, I would put them in their place in a matter of seconds.

I am trying to wrap my head around a couple of things concerning Celebrity (I haven't cruised Celebrity since about 2010). Now this is what I am reading on these boards. It seems to me that all cabins inside, ov, balcony eat in the main dining room. Aqua eat in Blu and Suites eat in Luminae. Also from what I can understand it seems to me that the main dining room is like going to the your local diner Blu sounds like a specialty restaurant and Luminae is more a fine dining.
Also Michaels is off limits unless you are in a suite. Wow Michaels was the place to go to listen to the violin trio after dinner.
I booked a sunset veranda. I didn't know I would need to be in a suite to be allowed to eat at the "very nice" restaurant.
Do I understand this correctly?
What other areas on the ship won't I be allowed in because I'm in a lowly sunset veranda?
Very similar to Skull and Bones...we are not allowed to tell you.

This is a discussion board. People can post whatever they want. My suggestion is to call Celerity Cruises directly.

I am sure the Sky Suite guests, I assume, are good people.

We travel in 3 weeks and have no email from Celebrity about these changes. I'm afraid it's too late to take anything else but our formal wear.
It starts December 4, 2015 per the email.

Not a rascal, just a flexible, fun going cruiser. Go ahead and place your wager. Haven't had a drop of alcohol in 8 years.
-
Per Celebrity Cruise Lines, Luminae was reverting back to B L D starting 10/2/15

Some of the alcoholic drink packages don't include sparkling water, specialty coffees and smoothies, so I would check before leaving it as one of your offers. If you don't want it and want the premium non-alcoholic drink package, then you get pretty much everything non-alcoholic.

We prefer Celebrity and notice a big difference. That is just us! We will go on RCCL in a pinch, but prefer Celebrity. Will NOT go on Oasis or Allure again. But, we know what to expect on RCCL.

That's a shame that you will not be at the meet and greet on our cruise, I was all ready to have a philosophical diatribe with you over a cold one regarding cruising, but alas, you're a teetotaler. We could always meet at Cafe al Bacio for a triple espresso if that is more to your liking. And if you can tell by my tongue in cheek ramblings in this post, I too don't take myself too seriously.
Maybe we will. My spouse generally stays out of my conversations unless it's something he feels strongly about too, but I am always up for a good discussion. Glad you don't take yourself too seriously. Life is too short to be worried about most of this sh*t on this board...and IMO should be spent on the actual cruise and enjoying it to the max.
-
I was not talking specifics regarding door stickers or decorations, if you read my post . I don't go to meet and mingle, and I have no desire to. We have a fabulous time on all of our cruises. We don't take ourselves too seriously. I guess that is they key.

So just an opinion. Many more things people do on a ship is tacky. Walking around in the cabin bathrobe in public places outside of your cabin and the spa # 1 tacky IMO.
Yes. Thank you, and I agree!

"no matter the rules" and "total disregard for rules"
Re-read your comment. What am I missing?
It said NOTHING about stickers on doors.
Go re-read your 30 page contract. GOODBYE
-
Question, if this is against the rules of the cruise lines, why does Cruise Critic have a link to custom designed CC door signs? Would the Owners of the site chance the wrath of every line in the industry by disregarding the rules?
How about a link to the rule you mention we are breaking since our first cruise in 1987? I have looked thru my 30 pages of the ticket contract and FAQ area, and can not find any references to such.
Your knowledge of the matter would be appreciated.
I did not state that putting stickers on the door was breaking the rules. Please re-read my comment.
-
Never have been told it isn't allowed. In fact, if you order a bon voyage, just married or birthday package your cabin attendant puts a sign on the door. Perhaps you have been told by another cruise line or things have changed.
It was a general statement, not regarding stickers on doors.

Once again, people will do what they want, no matter the rules, or whether anyone else thinks its tacky or not.
Its total disregard for rules and other people. Its all about ME. It's MY vacation and "I" will do what "I" want.
It's part of cruising. You get used to it.

I thought it was that they were splitting the swimming pool so suite onlys had their own pool and fenced off lounging compound....
Nice! Just like "the Haven" on NCL
Koningsdam Retreat Cabanas
