  1. Sweet Dutch Girl- I just can't bring myself to go onboard with wine neverless soda and water like I seen many do, I just would feel cheap and couldn't bring myself down to doing that....

For me it has nothing to do with money. I am a die hard Pepsi drinker so I take it with me when it is not offered.

  2. That is awesome! We were on the Fantasy in 2013 and had to make an emergency stop in Nassau. While we were docked the Dream backed in next to us, it was so cool.

We must have been on the same trip because we were on the Fantasy in 2013 and made an emergency stop in Nassau and the Dream pulled in. I got some great pics of her and loved the horn battle!

  3. When we went to Labadee we tipped the guy that pushed my mom's wheelchair, some of the street musicians, and a guy on the zip line. He took my camera while we where on the baby dragon and took pics of me and my daughter while there. He didn't have to do that but I did appreciate it because at least we had some pictures of a great adventure!

  4. Hi, tmac! Yes, we had the flags up during sailaway, then took them down while at sea. The plan was to put them up while in port also, since we figured that would be safe. Once docked in Labadee, we put them up again... not 5 minutes later there was a knock on the door asking us to take them down due to the fire hazard. I really did not think it would be an issue in port, but I guess it was. We had them taped with painters tape, so they were pretty secure - more secure than the clothing I saw on hangers on the balconies... Oh, well. It did not take away from our cruise enjoyment. We just wanted to have them in port so that family from home could see us on the webcam. :)

What an awesome idea! I almost took a picture of it now I really wish I had! We are guilty of putting clothes on hangers on the balcony! The flags looked really pretty, it is a shame you couldn't have left them!

  5. My family was on the Oasis earlier this month. So this is my short but sweet review! The first thing I have to mention is a BIG thank you to cruise critic members! You saved me some money...always a good thing. We stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and paid $8 per person for a shuttle ride to the ship. The driver of that shuttle was so rude and pushy about paying him $75 to be picked up at the ship and taken to the airport. He kept saying that there are no taxi's at the port because of Homeland Security. I told him I doubted that because I researched this port and everyone assured me there were plenty of taxi's and it would approximately cost $15. He laughed at me and said I was wrong but I could chance it if I wanted to. I told him I would take my chances. I could not believe his demeanor and right out lies! So kudos to CC members because we had not problem getting a taxi and it cost $16.10 for 5 of us! Plus tip of course.

My family consists of me, my mom and 3 DD ages 14, 12, 9. I can not express how much we loved this ship! There was so much to do and the girls were never bored. My oldest stuck with us for one day and then went to the teen camp and we only saw her at dinner after that! I told her I would allow her to run and have fun but she HAD to meet us for dinner. After just a couple of nights I was lucky to keep her through the appetizers! She couldn't wait to get back to her friends.

The other two girls were so busy with swimming, rock climbing, ice skating, swimming, shows, swimming, eating and swimming. Only the last day they did not get to swim because the pools were so busy. We did enjoy an evening swim each night because we usually had the sports pool all to ourselves.

The entertainment was great. I usually don't pay attention to the CD but you couldn't help but notice Ricky. He was so full of energy! The two diving shows were a big hit. Since we had a balcony room overlooking the Boardwalk we watched it several nights plus rehearsals. I loved seeing Cats, if for no other reason I can now say I have seen it. My mom fell asleep and the girls seemed to be into it.

Because we had such a great time that we signed up for the Allure next summer!

  7. On our first Fantasy cruise we had to make an unexpected stop in Nassau. While waiting the Dream arrived in port and we got to hear the two ships greet each other with the horns. the only other "horn battle" I have witnessed was between a Carnival ship and a Royal Caribbean. It wasn't that impressive!

  8. The worst cruise was Carnival Fantasy. It was a lot of little things that added up to not enjoying myself. If it weren't for the ports we visited I would have really been annoyed. One of the worst was the kids club. I would drop my daughter off and was told to return there at such and such time. NEVER were they where they said they would be! I spent a lot of time hunting the kids down to get mine! The passengers were very hateful...I went to GS the last night and witnessed some truly uncool behavior. the entertainment was awful, they shut the pool down on the last sea day, and the MDR service was pathetic!
