It's my typical late night blooging....Just catching up from the weekend.

Karen and David, So glad you made it thru Irene....My Bill's company is based in Baltimore but all of the Production plants are in the Philly area. He talked to alot of his friends today and like you...most came out unscathed...some basement flooding but that was about it.

BTW....I belated B-Day to David...I think I read it was last week......I hope!

George, Hope everything went well with your cleaning out of your mom's house. I lost my Mom almost 4 years ago so know what you have to deal with.

Talking of hotel nights, just thought I would post on here (as opposed to the main board) what happened when I put a question on there about day rooms near Tampa airport. Kathy and Ron (Katron), who are joining us on the Orange Bus Tour in Tenerife, have offered a night's accomodation and a relaxing day with them in Lakeland. They are about a 50 minute drive from the airport. We are bowled over at their generosity as we have not met them before but just have these boards in common.

 

This LOST cruise is becoming like an extended family. The reason I don't want to post about it on the main RC is that there are far more people who lurk there and those of us here seem to be getting to know one another much better, with fewer numbers.

 

I felt really good last night when we received the invite and have since exchanged several chatty emails. It restores one' faith in human nature. :)

Sandy: My Jeweler also has a separate coin area...There is a coin shop in the area and they are not as reputable as the Jeweler we use, guess it depends on the area and who you can trust or not:p...There really should not be a difference if they both use the spot gold price...

Tell me more about selling gold... I have several pieces, bracelets necklaces etc...can you get thousands? enquiring minds want to know. I have a very wide gold bracelet...a heavy gold locket and chain etc. etc. all yellow gold that I no longer wear...lots in fact.. would be nice to have a clear out.

 

Off to bed soon... hopefully can catch up on some sleep...back to normal hopefully.

Sherry do not take your jewelry to a jeweler. TAke it to a coin shop they pay out alot more than the jewelers. I took all mine to a jeweler and had a piece left and we were handing in some coins. I had them give me a price for what they'd give me for the piece and it was almost double of what they were offering at the jeweler. I could have kicked myself for handing all the rest over to the jeweler.

OK I think I made a mistake on who owned the car...........sorry thats what I get for skimming.............

WOW Joyce you did fantastic on the selling of the jewelry!!!! I turned stuff in but turned around and bought more jewelry ..........LOL

Hello everyone from Oswego,Il, (about 40 mile SW of Chicago). Having a great time with friends, but have been busy getting everything ready for the fundraiser on Saturday. When it is over will meet some more friends on Sunday and it is the Spa & shopping on Monday. Friends will be suprised on Sunday, my, brother is coming in from North Carolina. Nobody knows so it will be a surprise for everyone. It will be great to see him, it has been a few months.

 

We have MTD also, I think our reservations are for 7:00 or 7:30. I cannot remember at the moment.

Home for the Aged. All of my family has passed away so I am all alone.I want to thank you for the kindness you have shown to a forgotten oldlady.

 

My roommate is 95 and has always had her own radio; but, she wouldnever let me listen to it. She said it belonged to her long dead

husband, and understandably, wanted to keep it safe.

 

The other day her radio fell off the nightstand and broke into a dozenpieces. It was awful and she was in tears.She asked if she could listen to mine, and

I was overjoyed that Icould tell her to **** off.

 

Thank you for that wonderful opportunity.

Nothing exciting here really to report, we're off to one of the top theme parks in the UK tomorrow (Alton Towers) to get thrown around on the rides (we are theme park junkies).

 

I notice that there is a new reality talent show starting here in the UK in Sept - 'Showboaters'. 10 amateur entertainers battle it out to get a place in a cruise ships entertainment team. Filmed on Thomson Dream earlier this year when she was sailing the Caribbean. So, Matthew, do we see you auditioning?:D

 

11 weeks tonight we'll be in the W Barcelona - woo hoo! Get me to their Eclipse cocktail bar on the 26th floor!

Sorry for any confusion by mentioning the 30th, but here in the UK we don't officially change the clocks until 2 a.m. on the day of Sunday the 30th, but most people will change them before they retire on the 29th unless you're out partying like the gay boys until the early hours of the morning!:D
