  1. DW and I enjoy YTD. It is nice because you can go anytime. On our 1st cruise we had a different server each night. On our second we enjoyed our server so much we requested his section every night. I have read on here that there can be a wait for a table at certain times but we have never waited more than 10 minutes and that was because we wanted Fernando's section and not someone else's. It is nice not being rushed to get ready for dinner to make it on time. just my thoughts.

    Enjoy your cruise

  2. ahhhh...

here is what i read, here on this site: called 11 ways to get kicked off the ship

and i think this is the passage i read and somehow remembered it as organizing poker?? This has nothing to do with poker! im a goof !!!

    anyways.. still no answers.

    9. Organize your own tours in public. One of the things we love most about Cruise Critic's Roll Calls is meeting other travelers and teaming up to book independent excursions. While a cruise line doesn't mind if you book a private tour with a few friends, they do frown upon passengers booking a 30-person bus and advertising onboard for other cruisers to join them in shunning ship excursions. If you don't want to get forcibly debarked for soliciting, please be discreet in your tour arranging, and do not exchange money at Cruise Critic Meet and Mingles in front of senior officers.

Where did you find this? I did a search and was unsuccessful.

  3. Sorry you think the cruise sucked.

DW and I are relatively new cruisers going on our 3rd in 10 days. We have had a blast every time. I will admit that on our 1st cruise the MDR staff did not know our names but we had anytime dining and didn't have the same server the entire week. On our 2nd cruise we had anytime dining and had such a pleasant experience with our MDR staff (Fernando and his team ROCK) that we requested his section every night. We would see him and his team out on the decks during the day and they always called us by name. I can only hope they are on our next cruise.

Hopefully you will not give up Carnival after 1 cruise. Try a different ship and port you might actually like it. I highly recommend the Legend ship isn't new but it was a great time.

  4. DW and I have cruised twice we did not have FTTF for our first cruise and had our luggage in our room about 90 minutes after boarding the ship. On our last cruise we did have FTTF and our luggage was in our room about 45 minutes after boarding. We did not bring it to the attention of the porters.

  5. As someone that has worked in the bar industry most of my life I agree with you that they are gouging us for the ability to make our own drinks. However if you think about it if you try to smuggle booze on and get caught you are out about $25 and then you are going to pay around $7 per drink. A liter of Sky has approximately 30 drinks in it. In order to get the equivalent from the bar you are going to pay $210. Being the cheapskate that I am I will pay the $ for the bottle in my room instead of playing the smuggler game.

    Just my opinion.

  6. Last November DW and I celebrated our birthdays and anniversary. When booking with a PVP they asked if we were celebrating anything special. Told them bdays and anniversary they had decorations in our room and brought us cake with candle and sang to us. This did not cost us anything. So perhaps it just depends on how you book your cruise.
