My best friend and I are considering booking our husbands together in 1 cabin with us in another and then switch cabins on the ship because while the deluxe beverage package makes sense for the husbands, it doesn't make sense for us. Is it possible to do this? We did it on Carnival some years ago, but have never cruised with Royal Caribbean. Thanks in advance.
Yes we have done this and once on board went to the desk and had it switched. No issues.

Not booking Spirit, that's what this "we" would be doing. Not for a cruise, anyway. Please tell me you are booked to arrive 1 or even 2 days pre-cruise and are not flying in the day of embarkation???
Spirit is just too risky for that in my mind. If something happens and your flight is canceled or you miss a connection, it's going to be darn near impossible to get 8 people rebooked same day, or possibly even next day.
Given that you are starting in DTW, a Delta hub, I'd book Delta for that trip. More money? Almost certainly. But loads of options if things go sideways. You can be rerouted through ATL, JFK/LGA, MSP etc. You might have to split up to do so but that's better than missing your cruise.
We always fly in the day before and our ship sails at 8pm.🤞 Ya, defiantly would have done things differently. All our cruises and Florida trips with a number of different airlines we never had a cancelation, layover or delays. Lucky? I think what makes this different is its San Jaun?? Not as easy to fill a flight from one location??

So after looking for that flight again the other day that I couldn't find, I did find a flight that worked better for us. I called Spirit and had us all rebooked relatively quick and easy. She did stated we could change it free of charge 1 time after that charges will apply. Woke up this morning with a flight change notice again and our new flight changed by 16 minutes. I can handle that change I guess ..lol. Only 2 more months to go.
Ya chalking this up to a vacation lesson learned. If I recall we could have taken a direct Delta flight for $600 more. The wife just reminded me ..again🤦♂️

Boy does it ever keep changing....Just spent 20 minutes looking and its longer there? It was there last Wednesday. We had our direct canceled, Atlanta and Fort Myers connectors canceled and out of Atlanta at the moment. Lol no stress here yet , unless we miss the cruise send off. My daughter would be really grumpy then. Defiantly appreciate your help.

So, I will caveat that I have never connected on Spirit. But 50 minutes is probably okay in MCO assuming DTW-MCO is on time. Your issue is going to be what happens if you do miss that connection, because I believe Spirit only has one or MAYBE two MCO-SJU flights per day. That makes it much more difficult to be accommodated if you miss the connection, which can create a lot of issues. A more traditional airline like American, Delta, or Southwest would have more options to be re-accommodated.
I am starting to agree I could have made a better choice for airlines for something like this. Not how I want to start or finish our cruise with family and friends. I don't fly enough for the do's and don'ts. I should have checked in sooner with my Cruise Critic Family. They have saved me a boat load of $$ and headaches over the years. They truly have.
I am just hoping to get a better connector at this point. Also whatever I do I have 8 people to change up. Oh boy! LOL

The seat map is absolutely not a good way to gauge ticket sales. It is only a way to gauge seat assignments. Many people don't get seat assignments at booking. It is also unlikely the fullness of the flight caused the flight changes.
Thanks I did not think of that.

Several things to address here:
- Three times since when? Three times in nine months is more common than three times in two months.
- I assume you're looking at the seating chart to determine how "full" it is or is not. That's not an accurate way to judge on any airline, but especially on an airline like Spirit where so many people choose to not pay for seat assignments.
- 50 minute connection where? That makes a big difference.
Our initial booking was Sept 7. Yes I was just looking at the seat chart, not knowing. The 50 minute layover would be in Orlando.

We initially booked our direct flight from Detroit to San Juan for Feb 2, since that time it has been rescheduled 3 more time with connectors. I was doing some bogus bookings to see how full our flight was and it was only half full, so I do understand the connectors now ?@$!. Is this common? We now have 11 hour layovers. I did find a better connector, but it has a 50 minute layover. Thinking we could make it , but our luggage may not? They have flights to San Juan every weekend for cruises. What are we all doing?
I have traveled with Spirit 5 times now without any issues.

I did see where RC used my Captain's Club # from Celebrity when we just booked our first Rc cruise. Thought that was odd.

I wonder the percentage of people paying gratuities ahead of time to paying as they going?

I stumbled across this and was surprised how much we saved ! Almost 50%. Crazy.

Is the DPB the same for all cruises ? Or does it vary from cruise to cruise? Also have you seen where it was inflated the first day you get the code to purchase it??

My husband and I just arrived back home yesterday. We were on Reflection and disembarked in FFL. We are putting ourselves into 14 day quarantine. We live in the same city noted on this post. On our flight back home to Toronto the couple behind us coughed for most of the flight. Nothing we could do about it and now we wait and pray that we did not get infected!
I wish all people who are traveling back to their hometowns really seriously consider the self quarantine so that we can reduce the amount of people who are going to get sick!Thank you!

I am a foodie. Love trying new food and beverages. I average 8lbs. Try to loss some weight before I go and after. Always thought that's what cruising was all about?? lol

Here's a clue: They keep the do not disturb sign on the stateroom door all day;)
Hopefully you have the Bev Package, in there that long you will need to keep hydrated;) ;)

Is there better days then others to book on board??

We go out of Detroit and find flying into FLL is always cheaper, even including the shuttle. Coming back Miami and FLL are a wash.

Worked fine for me.

Thanks for all the well wishes ! It's a slower then I would have liked recovery, but getting better every day. I still consider myself young at 52. I have never missed or called in sick for work in the 25 years I been there. I think I took my health for grant...not no more:) !!!! We have a good out of country health insurance, but no cancellation insurance. I will be looking into a credit card that does cover this now.
All of my family and friends went on the cruise except my DW. I felt so bad for her and tried to convince her to go. She stated " Would you go if I were sick"......"Of course I wouldn't dear":cool::) The kids were going to back out, one was a nurse even. Had to do some convincing there.
We are only a "Classic" and it was a 2A cabin . I think between the situation and that fact Celebrity even goes as far as review our cruising habits. How often, what my DW spends in the casino :), what we purchase over and above our OBC etc. ( just my thoughts) ........I am going to go with they felt sorry for us :), and I don't think they do realize that I have introduced 18 new customer to the line that they would not have had.
I have always been their cheapest form of advertising and still will be.

Thanks Celebrity!!!!!!!!!!
We were 3 days away from ourFeb 10 Cruise on the Equinox and I became extremely ill and needed surgery (11days later). As you can well imagined wehad to cancel. This trip was planned for a year. I organized and booked thecruise, flights , excursions, shuttles, hotels etc for 16 of us. 12 of the 16have never cruised. I finally talked my children (adults) and sister intotaking a cruise with us. ……To say we were heartbroken is an understatement.
Like most people (people Iasked) we did not have cancellation insurance…..I said to my DW the money wasbeing spent anyway, just out the memories L. When I called Celebrity to cancel they asked thereason for the cancellation. I explained my case and they stated they couldn’tmake no promises but if I could send in some sort of documentation they wouldreview. They did also state a number of time in most cases people are declinedfor a refund or a transfer....heck nothing to lose.
I proceeded to call the firstairline for the flight down, they said sorry and thanks for letting us know“you know the policy”. I called the second airline ( one I have never flownwith) and they asked why? I explained and they stated if I had some sort ofdocumentation they would allow a transfer. …..I had no problem gettingdocumentation.
Celebrity called back 1 weeklater and allowed us to transfer up to 1 year out! I could not believe it. Thank you Celebrity!! We have only beencruising for 5 short years ….obviously hooked on cruising and Celebrity.
I sent a friendly email to our first Airline to see ifthey would reconsider because of the actions of the others. Also stating howthey still managed to sell our seats for double the cost of what we paid.Daughter sat next to our seats and asked JThey have now allowed us to transfer also.
Very grateful how this allturned out, did not expect this.
Thanks again Celebrity!!!

Any chance we'll see the NFL championship games on a big screen?
Bar in the Casino always has games on, thinking they will this one!

Thanks Keith, LHT28. I was thinking Miami would be a little more. Just hoping someone had a little jem of a spot.
I will keep looking, thanks again.

Cheapest I found as $120. I stayed in one in FLL for $65. Hoping for the same price.
