  1. I'd vote for the balcony on the 11th deck, too, mostly for the overhang issue.

We've been in angled balconies twice on the Escape - one forward-facing (14th deck), one aft-facing (12th deck). Both were good; I'd take either in a heartbeat on future cruises for the extra space on the balcony. We spend a lot of time out there!

    Thanks, dolita22!

I have angled balcony booked for our December cruise this year on Getaway. Yay! :D

  2. I would not take one on deck 15. There is a HUGE overhang above you, and you won't be able to see the sky from your balcony. In addition, I love the cabins near the elevators and stairs like the one on 11. We've had both forward and rear angled, and it's a toss up.

15270 is directly on top of the angled we sailed in for the Transatlantic.

Thanks for sharing your experience, LrgPizza. :)

  3. Hi, all

I'm currently booked on 12/4 NCL Getaway. I joined our cruise Roll Call and some members have already made hotel reservation last month in April. I have never make hotel or flight reservation this far in advance. I usually make flight reservation 2-3 months and hotel 2-3 weeks prior our trip.

Do you get better deals booking this many months in advance? How far in advance do you make your reservation? Do you have any money saving travel tips and tricks you would like to share?

Your participation is very much appreciated! :)

  4. Hi,

You've done your homework and I applaud you for that! ;)

Thank you! All from your recommendation.:D

I would suggest option 2 since the walk from the Top of the Baths isn't that long and is fairly flat. You can also decide whether to go to the Baths or Spring Bay first based on the number of people there at the time. The ferry will be $10pp more because you're buying one-way tickets, but it's well worth it to get the extra time on VG.

    Great excursion idea! :)

Option #2 it is. Can't wait to visit VG for the first time in October.

  5. We'll be at Tortola from 8AM-4PM on a Wednesday. We'll be traveling with 2 kids. (6 and 11) My 6 years old doesn't know how to swim yet, so I'm thinking to take them over to Spring Bay after the Baths.

I checked both ferry's schedule. And looks like I have two options.

    Option 1. To Spanish Town, Speedy's 9AM - Return to Road Town, Speedy's 12:40PM

    Option 2. To Spanish Town, Speedy's 9AM - Return to Road Town, Smith's 2:15PM

I like the 2nd option better but unsure about it. How difficult and how long is the walk from the Baths to Spring Bay? Do you think it's too much for the kids? My plan is to start from the Devil's bay trail, then make our way to the Baths. Have lunch at Top of the Baths and walk over to the Spring Bay.

OR Option 1. skip the Baths and spend 2 hours at Spring Bay, then take 12:40pm ferry back to Road Town.

    Thank you !!!

  6. Aft!!!

Non available for my cruise date.

Always book port leaving the port of Miami. Miami beach ocean view vs industrial loading zone of port.

Too early to tell where Escape will dock but if she uses Getaway/Epic docks over the years Nassau will also have the better port view.

St Maarten and St Thomas had better docked views starboard on Epic and same for Getaway (I think)

So if I cant get aft, I will always book port. Love leaving Miami port side from your balcony.

    Thanks, David.

  7. looks like the duration of the tour is 5.5 hours stated from their website.

i'm going to make a ressi with them for our upcoming cruise.

does anyone know about their cancellation policy?

    thanks!
