Has anyone used those online websites that offer discounts on all the cruise ship lines?  I don't think I can list the names of these websites so I wont.  How safe are these sites to book on?  How can they reduce these prices and how do they make any money in doing this?

I wish to hear from folks who have done Christmas markets.  I have many questions.

Did you get any snow?

What countries did you visit?

Do you have a favourite market?

Were the meals festive style?

What time do the markets open?  ......just curious as in the past cruises I have done set sail to the next destination about 7 or 8 at night, when I would rather have more night time at the markets to see the lights in the dark. ................Or would it be better to stay in a local hotel to visit the night markets till late, and just totally skip river cruising?  .......or maybe travel to each destination via train at a more relaxed pace??

I might go cruising on my own soon.  Any tips for getting a good price?

I tried doing a dummy booking online to compare prices for 1 person in a cabin, and then 2 people in a cabin, and the price came out cheaper to book for 2 passengers (including discounts and taxes).  So can I book a room for 2 and pretend I have another person with me until the last minute and after I have paid in full? Would I be made to pay the single supplement since I am alone, but have paid for 2 people?

Have picked out the itinerary Amsterdam to Budapest, but prices pretty high.  Have found October and Nov a bit better price wise.  I think Nov would be too cold, but how about October?  Has anyone done a river cruise at this time?  I would love to hear from you.  I don't mind mild days, but preferably no rain.

We really like Scenic but not the price. Emerald is similar and alot cheaper.

Hi. I have my heart set on a Scenic River cruise, 15 day Amsterdam to Budapest, but the only thing holding me back is the price. After searching around I have found Gate1 do a similar cruise for half the price. But I know nothing about Gate1, and love everything about Scenic. I looked on the Gate1 website and it says it caters for customers from north amercia ( I dont live in america). Has anyone travelled with Gate1 that can tell me anything good about it

When is the best time of year to do a river cruise, for nice warm days and preferably no rain?

The shows on the Jade are alright. Go with Carnival if you want awesome broadway shows. Better music, dancing, costumes. So much better than Norweigan

How do you select boarding and disembarkment times?

How long does disembarkment usually take? I am booking a taxi to collect me from the port but need to give a time for collection.

Finish our cruise in Venice, so is there a place to grab a taxi handy to the port area that can take us to a hotel on the mainland? What kind of price would this be and can you pre-book taxis?

How long would it take to taxi from Palma to Valdemossa and how much would it cost? Or what price would you be looking at to do car rental?

I was under the impression that you didn't have to book for shows. I thought it was first in first served for seating and once the seating was all taken up no more could get in
