I wasn't sure how to search for this. My Caribbean Princess cruise Embarks on the 4th, and leaves port at 5 PM on the 5th. Can we embark or at port any time

early on the 5th?

I called Princess but they said arrival time are assigned later, which wasn't my question.

The reason I am asking is I was considering flying in on the 4th which isn't usually a good idea, but flights are cheaper.

I booked Before COVID and kept moving it every time it got canceled. Did back to back in December 2021, one from Charleston in February this year, have one booked for Alaska in June and Transatlantic in September.

So yeah I am cruising.

They could do cafeteria style, or buffet servers.

I eat 80-90 percent of my meals in the buffet. I don't like to do sit down meals where I need a reserved time.

It really makes no sense. What will they do with the burger and hot dog joints? Bars?

Really not well thought out... If they choose to get rid all together I will start sailing another line...

I can watch Youtube and Netflix in 480P with no buffering.

Day 3....900 miles from Port Everglades. Wifi works well for internet and email. Checked out some You Tube videos, posted pictures and watched a program on Time Warner TV. Did test from deck 10 cabin and posting this from outside.....on the balcony.

Definitely not Zoom but speed is significantly improved over any previous ship WiFi. Pages load instantly on my Smartphone and just a little slower on my tablet.

We're on the Oasis now. The tels us the video clearly shows this guy jumped from deck 5. His family left the ship in Cozumel to meet him in the hospital.

 

It's been an interesting cruise. A near drowning and a return to Port Everglades, a helicopter evacuation from Labadee an now a guy jumps overboard.

 

Good luck to all of those affected by these incidents.

If we do a full transit from the left coast, should I still book a canal excursion in Colon, or do something else while there?

Essentially are the canal excursions different than what I would see from the ship?

Victor was there on my October 2013 cruise.... He hooked me up with some great drinks! Great guy and remembered my name from the 1st day. Of course I laid sme nice tips on him and he was my go to person the whole week!

He is a very good bartender!

If I get the soda package then once on board realize I want one of the alcohol packages. Will give me credit for what I paid for the soda package or will just additionally charge me for the alcohol package?

Both Cruises I was on allowed an upgrade only on day one of the cruise. But they did allow it.

Anyone know if Starbucks is included in the package?

Starbucks was NOT part of the last package deal. I hope they clarify this exclusion this time around.

I fully agree that RCCL needs to look at how Celebrity administers their program and take some pointers from them. It is very clear that half of the people who post here who were considering the package have changed their minds since beverages like bottled water, juices, and specialty coffees are not included -- plus only house wine.

2 - I have read on the Celebrity board that some people have decided part way through the cruise to get the beverage package and were only charged for the dates that they used it (the day they signed up til the last day of the trip). I was wondering if anyone has tried doing this on RCCL and what the response was.

I tried and they absolutely refused. It's really odd too, because I informed them that I was coming back the next week and would purchase another week if they did. They did NOT however force me to buy packages for everyone in the cabin.. Go figure.
