  1. I like modcloth and shop there quite a bit. I do feel that a lot of their styles trend younger (and I'm only 30). The quality is also hit or miss and there's no way to know in advance because they don't publish the brands. I know some people do reverse-image searches of their products and are able to find them for 50-70% cheaper (probably another reason why they don't publish brands - their prices are very inflated). Having said that, I still place orders with them probably every other month or so...the return policy is great and if there are any issues, they are always very fast to fix them. :)

  2. I should add, in this case, trip insurance wouldn't have helped OP one bit, because the airline is already obligated to refund the cost of their ticket per FAA regulations. Voluntary schedule changes (the change fee) is not covered by any trip insurance and they wouldn't have gotten it anyway. (Unless the airlines decides to be nice and give it to them, even though they don't have to, but given this is Frontier, the likelihood is 99% they will not).

Trip insurance covers things like illness, terrorism, natural disasters, jury duty, etc. Flight schedule change, 5 months in advance, is not one of these major unforeseeable events.

  3. Good for you! I was on a Breakaway cruise and met many solo cruisers that were not 'single'. IMHO it is not really an issue; everyone was welcomed.

    Happy and safe cruising. :)

Thanks! I am sure it will be fine. I am pretty easy to please after the temperatures are below freezing for a few months - give me a chair in the sun and I'm happy! :)

  4. Sorry not trying to pry and definitely not making fun of this, but guess the first part in bold didn't work out. :p

I'm not the person you're replying to, but I am married and also chose NCL for my upcoming cruise mainly because of the solo cabins. I get mandatory time off work around Christmas and that happens to be the busiest time for my husband. And he also hates cruising. As for myself, I've only been on one and didn't have the greatest experience either, but I'm going to give it another shot. It at least sounds better than sitting at home alone for a week in the middle of the winter.

  5. I would like to this regarding the virgin drinks as well. I found one post from a lady who got virgin daiquiris for her daughter with no issues, but I would like a confirmation (I thought you were't allowed to order UBP drinks for other people so I am not sure how representative this example is?)

I know that virgin drinks are cheaper. The issue is that I am a newly certified diver and to be conservative, I would not be drinking alcohol on the days before my dives (2 sea days of a 7 day cruise). I think that the UBP would still make sense for me, but not if I can't use it at all for 2 days of the cruise.

  6. I suggest you don't go into your first cruise expecting luxury. I did, and was disappointed (it was on a different line, so I will not go into details here). I have now done more research and adjusted my expectations. Try to price-out a comparable non-cruise vacation and you'll find that going on a mass-market cruise is the cheaper option most of the time.

  7. I've only been on one cruise, and they did not announce my DOB at check-in, but even if they do, most people don't immediately start doing mental gymnastics to try and calculate your age, especially since 33 and 38 are not that far apart. And even if she does like doing math in her head much more than an average person, so what? Why does it matter how she finds it out, if you think that she likes older men and would not care anyway? If it is something that doesn't matter, it shouldn't matter how the information is presented to her.

  8. My only experience in Miami was we got to port about 10:00.

    We were boarding group 3.

When we boarded, we hot-footed it to guest services. I believe we got passes 11 & 12. The were sold out by the time we finished the process.

Thanks! I guess I will be there at 9:30:rolleyes:

  9. Posh pass on Epic is $59.00 for week. You must board very early to get one. They only sell around 20.

I know it would vary from sailing to sailing, but can somebody please clarify what "very early" means, generally? I tried searching the forum, and I found an example of someone getting to port at ~11:15 (onboard by noon) and the passes no longer being available and someone else always arriving by 9:30 to ensure they get one. Waiting by the door from 9:30am seems a bit drastic to me, but I will do it if that's what's needed in order to get the pass. Otherwise, I don't care about getting on the ship as soon as possible...I'd rather eat elsewhere.
