  1. Thanks to those who have responded offering advise.

As part of our half day trip around Barbados, prior to flying home, we intend visiting the area in and around Bathshiba and notice Bay Tavern Restaurant at Martins Bay has good reviews.

Despite searching I am unable to locate contact details or opening times.

    Anyone able to assist please?

  2. A couple of years ago and prior to our first cruise, Azura was docked in Cartagena, Spain. As we were in the area we popped along to try and get some feedback from passengers.

Everyone we approached were complimentary in their remarks except one couple who found the ship much too large. They did go on to say however it was there 4th cruise on the ship.

  3. We are from UK and have also booked the same Celebrity Infinity cruise.

Our first time in South America and having only paid small deposit are a little concerned about some reports of safety. We appreciate petty theft can occur in most towns and cities of the world and we always take care in this regard. However we have read reports of theft involving violence.

As this is our first to this continent, any advice on sight seeing would be appreciated.

    Our ports of call are:

Buenos Aires (3 days, including extra night pre cruise)

    Santos (for Sao Paulo)

    Llhabela

    Buzios

    Rio De Janeiro (3 days)

    Punta del Este

    Montevideo

  4. We have read many threads mentioning the mountainous roads on St Lucia, and one in particular which stated "mountainous with steep drops, narrow road, no crash barriers over mountains"

Do such road conditions apply if travelling north from Castries to the Rodney Rodney Bay area?

At this stage, but dependent on responses, our thoughts are to take in the market at Castries before travelling onto Rodney Bay by either bus or taxi. However if the road is as bad as indicated, then we will probably rethink our day on St Lucia.

  5. Prior to flying home after Caribbean cruise, we thought we would do a whistle stop tour of Barbados. We need to be at airport for around 3pm. So where would you recommend we visit within something like 4-5 hours. Probably lòoking to hire a taxi ourselves, although would consider pre booking. There will be 4 of us.

  6. Thankyou both for your replies. What time did you arrive at Nelsons Dockyard, did you make your own way or as part of an organised tour? How long should we allow for a casual walk around. Undecided at mo about visiting Shirley Heights.

In addition we want to take in a beach, with beach bar, although I have read on this forum that beaches with bars can become very crowded early afternoon, and I am wondering if best to do beach first followed by Nelsons Dockyard. I guess if there are decent eating establishments at Nelsons we could eat there before going to a beach.

Any further advice would be great please.

  7. On the day our cruise liner is in Antigua (Feb 2015) there are 4 others all arriving within an hour of each other, 0800-0900.

Nelsons Dockyard is a must see for us, and we would do it on our own, not via the ships itinerary.

With so many cruise liners in port, i am concerned Nelsons Dockyard could be over run with day visitors?

Any feedback or advice would be great. Thanks

  8. We are on the Celebrity Millenium, departing Singapore 2nd March 2014.

We have also booked a private tour, different tour agent, for Bangkok(BKK Tours) and at Halong Bay the ships excursion.

Is this the same cruise you are on?

  9. We have booked a 2 day tour with Stephen of Best Cruises. It seems very reasonable for a private tour and US190 for each of us.

  10. Thanks so much for posting your video. Really enjoyed it. We do not go on this cruise for another 11 months but cannot help getting excited!!! Itiniery looks amazing. Do you arrange all your own private tours, if so who did you use, or did you use the ones from the Millenium? :)

  11. You said "I am on the Millennium right now, but at a hotel in Bangkok."

Did you use the ships transport to Bangkok or organise it yourself.

We are doing the same cruise in March next year and are trying to get all the info we can together before go. Any useful info would be great about this or the cruise in general. Thanks.

    Enjoy your cruise. x:rolleyes:

  12. Yes, unless you are staying ashore in the overnight ports, in which case you need to apply for a different Visa, which can also be done on board.

We are on the SE Asia cruise in Feb 2014. Is it easy to get the Vietnam visa on the ship. What process do you need to go through. At this stage we are researching each port of call but we normally tend to do our own thing rather than the ships excursions.
