Are you using the cruise critic app or tapatalk? I only got them on tapatalk.

I only see the gifs on tapatalk.... So I'll just use the cruise critic app...

Oh, don't worry. You will be back to the ship with plenty of time. Yes it is near the port. You walk through a path with some vendors and then out to an area to get the transportation. Then when you are dropped off you walk through this same walkway to get back to the ship. It is a short walk. But, you will get back on time, do not worry about that!

You will really enjoy it. The scenery is beautiful, the owner (the guide) is wonderful and explains everything thoroughly. The party-like atmosphere while going to and from the destination is really alot of fun!

my wifes concern is getting back to the ship with enough time. does the boat pick you up and drop off near the port?

At Grand Turk, I guess we really didn't do an excursion -- we went to visit the exhibit on the rocket landing...

 

 

 

 

Then we laid on the beach for a while, ending up at Jack's shack for drinks and some jerk chicken for me and conch fritters for hubby.

 

 

At La Romana DR, we had signed up for a private excursion for a Rio Chavon River tour. It was really nice, we ended up at a secluded little place for a full lunch, did a little hike and a little kayak ride on the river. I give that tour an excellent rating!

Not sure it's a question of geography . . Guam is also a US territory and there's no domestic coverage there. I think Verizon has a contract with local some local cell towers in St. Thomas and at the moment, Verizon does NOT offer domestic rate phone calls there.

 

Good to know Sprint and AT&T DO have call service. Maybe I can borrow a phone!

Thats the first i heard of that. every other company, its just like making a call from home.

its still $50 a day. you gotta drink A LOT each day to make it worth while. for me and the amount i drink whether it be soda, iced coffees, beer or mixers it is still A LOT cheaper for me to buy the drinks individually each day.

Now if you drink a lot and have a drink of some sort in you hands all day long its worth it.

That's the same for me. We don't drink near enough for this to make sense

Sorry but I disagree with you all. I love LA Romana. I can see how some feel unsafe because of the cultural differences and the poverty but the people are extremely welcoming. After spending a beautiful day at Dominicus beach we headed to downtown LA Romana and walked around and felt very safe talking with the locals. It does help that we speak spanish

Cultural differences.... I like that. I don't feel unsafe anywhere. All the people are so helpful to us when we go.

Its what you make it. Im determined to have a good time no matter where i go. I treat the locals with respect and that is returned to us

What about if you want to enjoy the Galveston port a little before getting on the ship? My family and I are staying at Harbor House the night before our cruise in March and might like to wait until noon. With FTTF, is it still a short wait to get on board that late?

You get priority boarding when you get to the port... No matter what time you get tbere

Sometimes they bring them back. You just have to check it. Ive gotten it 2 weeks before sailing before, just have to be diligent about it. I don't know of any schedule they use.

No advantage, I find it convenient to have my full costs upfront and never think of it again.

I've never had this problem, I'm good for moving someone's stuff, or simply just sitting down and waiting for them to come.....and what do you know, most don't show up.

Grab a chair and sit down, especially if it's empty.

They will show the game in multiple areas as well as have a special menu for the game.

Im never in the room so i never noticed if they came twice a day. Not really a thing I even think about... Too focused on relaxation, culture and fun. As long as they show up by the time i go to sleep, im good
