Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Hi, As a HAL first-timer, I was wondering if anybody more experienced could help me with the cabins on Oosterdam? We have a reservation for 7101, but I somehow learned that not every bathroom is equipped with a seperate shower. Some have tubs only, is that right? Somehow oldschool, and quite tricky for my slightly handicapped hubby. Due to safety reasons he hates entering a tub for taking a shower. How can I find out if this applies to our cabin? And in case we have an issue here, to which category do I have to change to have a walk-in shower? Thanks for your help.
  2. We started cruising 10 yrs ago, when we were in our 40s. They gave us a questionnaire, to find out which cruiseline would match our requirements best. Guess what, the result was HAL. Nevertheless, we began with Princess, Celebrity and Cunard, and always enjoyed the good mixture of people from all continents and ages. And now, in 2024 it`s time for our first HAL cruise on Oosterdam, and we are so excited. I don`t care too much for what people tell you, as long as I can enjoy my vacation the way I like. And who cares for ages, as long as you can meet interesting people?
  3. Just while I noticed this post - can anyone of the more experienced HAL cruisers describe the dresscode on dressy nights more specifically? We are newbies to the cruise line, with Princess, Celebrity, Cunard and MSC experience. Is there really a recommendation for evening or cocktail dress, or is a pant with a fancy shirt or blouse enough? Not to be misunderstood, we love to dress up from time to time, but our 14 N South America cruise is part of a 22 days package, and we only have 23 kg baggage allowance 😞 Referring to the different climate zones, there will not be much space left for huge evening attire. Thanks for your help!
  4. Hi there, we are new to HAL, and booked our first cruise with them on Oosterdam for 2024. My hubby is slightly handicaped (walking disabled), and prefers a shower in the bathroom instead of a tub. Now I found that Veranda cabins are in a surprisingly high number equipped with tubs. Any recommendations for cabins with a shower? Thanks for any help. We are bookd on 7101 (VD).
