  1. Here's something you may want to consider. This as worked for us many times in the past when we have sailed with 3 persons in the same room.

Book your cabin as close as possible to the spa/gym. The proximity to the gym means you have an extra shower/bathroom facility just steps away from your cabin. Really comes in handy when it's time to get ready for dinner.

Just be cautious about the price. Most times, the cabins (even the interior cabins) on the spa deck are significantly higher. Try one deck lower. Best to check the deck plans.

    great idea

  2. Hi,

So I booked this cruise for the concert only lol I love Tim and for whatever reason he is not coming around to my area this year like he has been every year. Only the casino which tickets are CRAZY expensive.

Questions because I am confused. When I booked I was told this was going to be on the beach in Nassau since he is there the day before as well. Is this true? Has there ever been a Carnival concert on the beach? If inside where is it held? I want the best possible seat possible. Is it in the theater? Or in the comedy lounge?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!! Oh can you take pictures?

Hi, we did two Carnival Live showings, Styxx (Cozumel) and Boston (Nassau), both were held in the main theater. Great time and the sound was awesome.

  3. Well, perhaps this is the reason it was the ONLY Lido balcony left on Carnival's website! I'm going to try not to overthink this too much and enjoy the fact that I have a balcony on the Lido!

Hi, don't worry, we were on the starboard side same location 11/14/15, did not hear a thing. If you are trying to sleep during the one deck party you may hear the music. We love that location. Walk out to the pool, run back to your cabin to use the bathroom, quick and easy to get a bite and bring back to your cabin.

  4. Hi all,

Down to days :D. I've read several threads about luggage tags and I'm still a bit confused . After I've printed them, followed the fancy folding instructions and "laminated" them with tape, then what? Do you staple them around the handles? If so, do you carry your own stapler? Do I need to carry a hand full of zip-ties, and if so, how do you punch holes?

    Thanks in advance,

    John

I purchased clear luggage tag holders from cruise critic. Fold and insert when you leave for the port.

  5. You had to be there. When the lights were all turned off and the waiters came in with the Baked Alaskan flaming in a congo line. Quite amazing. Sure beats the dog'n'pony show of the waiters swinging towels and dancing on the food stands !

Having Flaming Cherries Jubilee prepared right at your table was another of the great treats with the lights turned down.

But economics is economics. 30 some years ago paid $599pp or $699pp (can't remember) for a cabin on the TROPICALE . . . taking the BREEZE in October for $419pp. There are no miracles  . . . cuts must be made. I still love it to death.:)

You are right glrounds, I found my first cruise folio/ticket contract, back in 1999, rates certainly have stayed the same for that same inside cabin

  6. We've only been Platinum since 2013 when we received 4 Tervis Tumblers which we love.

So happy we didn't get the baseball cap, game board, or insulated coffee mugs.

I'm on vacation as I type this and I have my CCL cosmetic bag with me & love it.

I like my Nike Golf Carnival baseball cap.

  7. My relatives recently went on the Baja Mexico Cruise. I am not sure if they were on the Imagination or the Inspiration, but they told me that during one formal night, lobster tails were not serve.

Does Carnival stop serving lobster tails or is it only on this route?

    Thank you.

    Danny

6 days and longer for lobster tail.

  8. They care about you coming back for another cruise and they care about how much money they make on you. What you said does not make sense because they would have to feed you and clean up after you 10 times instead of one time. That would cost them money and they would not appreciate so much profit.

you are right, CCL wants every cruiser to spend as much as possible. Some will break the bank and some won't. CCL will incentivize with perks to get you to spend more. They have to keep the cruiser engage and striving for the next loyalty tier. Who knows they may double your dollar pts or sea days if you select a suite or booking more expensive excursions.

  9. This has been a long time in the works....Back on 11/17/14 Carnival CEO Arnold Donald stated that plans are in the works for a loyalty program that would cut across the nine brands and that it is coming down the pike...hopefully we have reached the end of the pike if what John says is true and happens within a reasonable time frame. We shall see just how soon this will be...

I hope they do something like that

  10. Don't take just my word for it (although we are close in age). Do your research. My husband and I are go, go, go, kind of people. We are not shy, and love talking to people. I don't think we know how to relax.

Steakhouse is AMAZING! We ate there 3 times! We were on the Grand out of San Francisco (Pacific Coastal).

thanks for the advice, I am sure it will be more relaxing and not as rushed as we are use to, so it will be a nice change. I remember travelling to Florida and visiting her parents at a 55 plus community, we took a walk around 8 pm, no one on the streets. Might be what we will see on Princess. We will be there someday, just not anytime soon. Looking forward to the trip.
