I am surprised.  I do get 100% refund.  After reading your note, I called Princess again to confirm there will be no cancellation fees.  And it should show up in my statement in 5 to 7 business days.

I would call again and ask to speak with a manager.  Don't give up.  The person you spoke with did not know what she was doing.

It was not her business to advise you what date to test for your sailing.  Ask her if she knows how difficult it could be to get tested in some locations.

I am sorry this happened to you.

    What date was your cruise?

There are no Ultimate Ship Tours currently, because of Covid.

What I’ve done in the past was around $150 I think? But I ended up with quite a gift package of goodies afterwards, including the robe and apron I still use today.

Thanks. I guess I misunderstood the post from JF - retired RRT. Must have been referring to a pre-covid cruise.

    Pre-cruise:

    o Accept the passage contract

    o Enter in passport information

    o Enter credit card information

    o Enter emergency contact information

o Enter in required medical information

o Select or learn about your arrival time to check in for cruise

Some of these items really should not wait until check-in time at the terminal to input to Princess. Wrong time to find out the info you bring to the terminal does not meet all they need and thus be denied boarding with no refund.

Can't this be done on the website before leaving home?

We stayed at The Admiral in 2018 and we loved it! Their updated rooms do have A/C, you just have to ask for a room with A/C. We are glad we did, as it was 95 degrees the 3 days pre-cruise we stayed there. The Admiral was beautiful, on the water, within walking distance to Nyhavn and the Little Mermaid, had a hoho nearby and a wonderful breakfast (extra charge). We plan to stay there again in 2023.

What time of year were you there?

Depending on location of hotel you can either take the train from Central Station (few other stations like Nørreport and Østerport) or if staying in the Nyhavn area the Metro M2 direct to the airport.
I do find it convenient to take the train when I’m going to the airport for cruise.

Thanks!  Any issue on the train with luggage?

That was fast, thanks! Our cruise on Sky was cancelled in 2020, looking forward to our cruise in Feb 2022 (and crossing fingers)!!

Here’s the link...we were on the same cruise & had the pleasure to meet Keith who has contributed so much helpful info on this forum.

Do you still have the link?  I can't find it.  Thanks

In Colo Cruiser’s live from the November 2019 Sky that I previously posted he has great photos & information about the ship.

Unless things have recently changed, they use large buses.  The ride is at least 2 1/2 hours each way and can be longer depending on traffic.

Thanks.  I think we’ll skip Paris. 3 hours on a bus doesn’t sound like a fun vacation. I appreciate everyone’s input!

Just curious how long is the bus ride from the ship to Paris?   Is the shore excursion just a ride around looking  at Paris from the window of the bus, or do you get off the bus and actually get to walk around Paris?   How much time are you actually in Paris?

So, in your opinion, is the shore excursion good value and worth it?

It looks like a 3-hour bus ride each way. The "on your owns" drops you off, and you're on your own for a little over 4 hours.  The Best of Paris, it looks like they mostly drive around, stop at a restaurant for an hour, then stop at the Eiffel Tower for about 1.5 hours.  Just trying to imagine 3 hours each way on a crowded bus.  The train is an option, but I tend to get nervous about missing the ship.

  10. Curious to know if anyone has done the Princess "Pars on You Own" Le Havre to  Paris, or even the Princess "Best of Paris" tour?  Still debating what to do in April.  If you've done either of those excursions, with Princess, do they use a full-size bus, or do they use smaller buses?

7am to 3pm is plenty of time, very little of interest as the centre was heavily bombed during the war and was rebuilt.

It is some time since we visited, but from experience of many ports buses run about every 15-20 minutes.  We couldn't walk into town as it was some way and we were in a very busy commercial area.

Thanks so much for the info!

  12. Brest will be a stop for us in April. It will be a short one, 7am to 3pm (Sky Princess).  We have a 2-hour walking tour booked in town at 11am that meets downtown. It looks like there is a shuttle that goes from the ship to town, but I have been able to figure out how often the shuttle runs (both directions).  Also, trying to see if town is in walking distance from the ship.

I don't think getting to the tour will be an issue, but want to make sure we'll have plenty of time to get back to the ship.  I'm assuming we'll need to be onboard by 2pm, but don't know for sure.

    Any insights are appreciated!

As far as the Sanctuary is concerned I discussed it in one of my blog entries.  Simply said, you need to get there, in line, ASAP once you board the ship.  The situation is that those on back-to-back cruises get a jump on the rest of us.  The line starts moving at 12pm.  By the time we got there at 11:40 there were a number of people ahead of us and when we reached the lady handling sign up there were almost no lounges left for the entire trip.

So far, regarding shows, we saw a comedian who was very entertaining the first evening on board.  We were at the 6:30 show.  The next night was a production show, 5 Skys, which, in my opinion was excellent.  I will comment on it later in the blog.  All I can say, however, is if you want a good seat get there early.  We arrived only about 10 minutes ahead and the entire theater was on the verge of overflowing with people.

The other two nights we did not go to the shows.  One night they had a magician and last night was a female vocalist.  We did not go last night as we were late in St. Thomas and chose to dine at the show hour.

Thanks so much for all the pics and info. We'll be on the TA in April.  For the Sanctuary, I couldn't find that your blog.  Do you think it's worth signing up for a 1/2 day? I've never done the sanctuary, but am curious.  Also, where do you go to reserve that once you get on board?

Appreciate your answers to all of our questions!!
