I move my pre-paid excursions to OBC on every cruise and have not ever been charged a penalty nor have I been charged a higher price if they've gone up.

If you cancel the excursions yourself and rebook them to use OBC, you could possibly incur the penalty and pay a higher price (if there's been a price increase). It's very important you have the Shore Exc Desk handle the changes.

    Safe travels- enjoy your cruise!

    That's wonderful! Thanks so much!

For the dining I suggest you go to the desk located on deck 2 opposite Pinnacle Grill and Rudi's Sel de Mer restaurant and ask them to change it.  I have successfully done this last year.

Thanks! I imagine there would be a dining reservation desk, at least on the first day. I guess I could also change the prepaid excursions to OBC but the prices have gone up significantly. I'm not sure they will honor the prices of my original booking.

  3. Will there be a penalty? I am new to HAL. I have "Have it all plus gratuities" on an upcoming cruise on the NS, and will likely end up with excess non-refundable onboard credits. I understand there will be a penalty (10%?) if I cancel and rebook prepaid excursions once onboard, and the excursion prices have actually gone up since I booked them. What about doing this for prepaid specialty dining? Even a reservation for the second day of the cruise?

Also, I assume I can use the Navigator app to cancel and rebook specialty dining once onboard (and the refund will go to the original form of payment and the charge will go to my onboard account)? If that doesn't work, where is the reservation desk on the NS? Thanks very much for your help!

  4. New Summer Schedule 2015:

    Flyer of Summer Changes 2015:

According to the flyer, "The Green and Silver Lines will discontinue service to the Berth 4 bus stop effective Saturday, May 16, 2015 for the summer. Green Line customers please use the stop one block south at City Float. Silver Line customers please take The Free Shuttle from Berth 4. Ask your driver for a transfer to Silver Line South." This is a little confusing. I assume only the Southbound is affected because Berth 4 is still in the Silver Line Northbound schedule.

  5. Hi Folks, I have a few questions about the Royal Replenish drink package, especially on the Allure:

    1. Does Vintages have anything (like juice or sparkling water) that is covered in this package, or is it wine or nothing?

    2. What are the venues, and times, that I can get fresh squeezed orange juice or specialty coffee drinks (like cappuccino)?

    3. Can anyone suggest some non-alcoholic cocktails and frozen drinks to try? This would be a good time to experiment but I don't want to be too wasteful. If it makes any difference, I know we will definitely visit Viking Crown, Solarium, Dazzles, Trellis, Schooner, Rising Tide, Vitality, and the bars at Labadee.

Any tips on maximizing the benefit of Royal Replenish on the Allure would be greatly appreciated!

  6. Thanks so much, guys, for all the great scouting reports, especially the phone call, wow!

For completeness, the article mentioned in Kletina's earlier post (which had disappeared from this thread) was from a website called El Souvenir. The recipes were Casa Mission's Lionfish Cocktail, La Cuisine's Lionfish Kabob and La Perliat's Lionfish Ceviche.

By the way, has anyone seen La Choza's menu online? I have seen a lot of pictures and write-ups, but never a full menu (with prices).

  7. Hmm... I wonder what happened to Kletina's post. It contained a reference to a lionfish story (in Spanish) with recipes from Casa Mission and two other restaurants. That's what prompted me to ask about La Mission.

Anyway, I think we will probably still go to La Choza. Who knows? They might have a lionfish special that day. One can hope.

  8. Thanks so much for the great suggestions so far, and Happy New Year! I wonder if La Mission also serves the lionfish. In general, how would you compare the food at La Mission vs. Casa Mission? My original plan was to go to La Choza for their Yucatecan dishes because I have never had them before, but I have a feeling they are not particularly big on seafood?
