  1. We were lucky and squeezed one in on 02/23/20. It was bizarre. We flew into Puerto Rico on 2/22/20 and everything was fine. We heard some rumors of it getting a little dicey on the West Coast, but no real concerns.

While we were out to sea we watched as things kind of exploded. There was a rumor that the other ship that left out of San Juan the same day as us was turned away from a port because a crew member had a flu-like illness. No issues on our cruise, but when we got back to San Juan there was a woman traveling in a full CDC type Hazmat suit. It was like leaving and returning to a whole new world.

  2. We had a Family Harbor Suite (Cabin #2421), which was about 3 doors down from the lounge.

Pros: Since it was our Mediterrainean Cruise, we enjoyed not having to go all the way up to Lido for breakfast evey morning before getting off the ship for our early morning excursions.

Even getting a snack in the afternoon and evening was very conveinent.

Cons: Our cabin was under the galley, which got very noisy most nights, which statrted around 2-3 in the morning till 6am. Dragging things across the floor, dropping pots & pans, sounds of slamming doors.

No real kids to speak of because it was mid September and in the Mediterainean.

Agreed. We were in FH Suite 2410 and it was so loud. I am a light sleeper and it really impacted my cruise because I was exhausted all the time. The breakfast area was nice, but I would never book this room category again.

  3. We had it in October on the Valor and it was the WORST. There was a 30 minute wait every night (longer on elegant night) starting at 6pm, but we counted 14 tables around us that sat empty the entire time we were there. We tried 4 different sections only getting decent service one night. I have never experienced anything like it on a cruise. We gave up after night 4 and ate on the Lido or at the deli.

  4. We are in port from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, but I am not seeing an El Yunque excursion in Carnival's offerings. I looked at island marketing, but it looks like their minimum age is 5 and our youngest will be about 5 months shy of that. Is it really that strenuous? We hike all the time so I know she would be fine on a normal hike.

Any other suggestions for El Yunque tours where they will pick us up at the port?

  5. We booked a 5 person FH suite instead of the 4 person because of this. It has the pullout sofa (for our 5 year old daughter) and a pull down bed (for our 14 year old son). Otherwise they would have been sharing the pullout sofa which would have sucked.

Edited: this was supposed to quote the person who was concerned about traveling with a 1 year old and 10 year old.

  6. Finally got my stuff straight today. I got to keep my $25 pp military OBC and got the $50 pp OBC. I was on the 5/21 5 day Breeze Cruise to Amber Cove and Grand Turk and was going to switch to the 5/21 Magic Cruise that went there plus San Juan and St. Thomas. I noticed today that the 5/14 Magic itinerary was the same and is $20 pp cheaper so I went with that one since our dates are flexible.

  7. We are switching from a 5 day Breeze on 5/21 to a 7 day Magic on the same date. We got to keep our $50 pp OBC and our $50 per cabin OBC from Military Month (although I had to fight for the latter). Magic is costing us $800 more out of pocket although we get $300 back in OBC. Flights are usually cheaper to MCO vs. FLL on Southwest so I should just about break even AND get 2 extra days out of it. I am satisfied with our outcome, but really annoyed at how much fighting it took to resolve. When I am trying to pay you $800 EXTRA dollars for an issue YOU caused in the first place, do NOT fight with me over my $100 in Military Appreciation OBC. So stupid! Once I told them I had an Oasis cruise in my cart online and they were about to lose our $3500 booking over $100 in OBC suddenly they were cooperative.

Also... very annoyed that they are able to rebook immediately for some but some are having to wait until Friday. Get your crap together before announcing a huge change.

  8. Glad I read this... we have a 4 person FH Suite booked and this discussion prompted me to look at the bed configuration. A double pull out sofa is not going to work for a 14 year old boy and 5 year old girl!

My PVP recommended that we sleep on the sofabed and give the kids the twins. Um no. Not paying for a suite to sleep on a sofabed!

She is going to call tomorrow and try to get us into one of the 5 person FH suites since they have pull downs, but she said they may not let us since we don't have 5 people. They will definitely be losing out on a suite sale then and they better not charge me a fee to downgrade to a balcony since it would be them not working with me on a bedding configuration.

  9. Does anyone have any recent Camp Carnival schedules? Specifically from the Liberty would be great, but any and all would be fantastic. I tried to search for them, but only came up with older ones.

I am cruising with a young child (just turned 3) for the first time and wanted to make sure I am prepared!

  10. Does anyone have any pictures of this? Is the regular brunch menu available in addition to the Suess items?

I did google but couldn't find much beyond stock images.
