  1. This is what I wear and it is AWESOME!!

Technically, it's shapewear...but it isn't compression shapewear. The words "Just Enough" are very apt. I wear this over my underwear...It smooths out my underwear lines and helps to smooth out my abdomen area. The top of the panty comes right to my bra-line on me, so no additional back fat.

It isn't super difficult to put on. I'd say that it is a bit like wearing a leotard, if you ever did. It smooths you out and evens out the lumps. The material is very smooth, so all my dresses glide over it too so that they don't catch anywhere. But it is still easy enough to use the necessary when it is necessary.;)

    Thanks for the tip

  2. I agree with those saying wear clothes that fit. I dress for my body shape.

I was just curious about what others do. My coworker was the one who had recommended shapewear after I commented on her figure. I later found out that she had used 3 different layers of shapewear to achieve the figure.

LOL I honestly don't know how she made it through the shift.

  3. Ladies do you wear shapewear on your cruises? To dinner? Everyday?

    I just can't do it, y'all.

I can't understand how shapewear is supposed to fit and be flattering.

I have tried all different versions.

I wanted something to wear under my sundresses for my upcoming cruise and a coworker suggested the high waisted thigh/tummy control. You know, the one that is like a pair of shorts but goes all the way to your bra line. Well hello back fat!!!

I tried the version by Assets at Target, then a cheaper version at Walmart. No ma'am! Nothing flattering about that.

Then I have tried the panties with the panel over the tummy area. Hello muffin top.

So THEN I tried the separates, a cami with a control boyshort. It still just rearranged the fat and I seemed to have a bulge in the middle.

I have tried going with my exact size based on the products size chart and I have also went up a size. Nothing has been flattering.

I am just going to wear the light control boyshorts under my dresses.

My coworkers just rave about shapewear but even when I was thinner, it never flattered me. I wonder if it is just my body type or if this is something all of us who aren't so thin deal with. I am 5'9, about 187 lbs, long torso, majority of my weight is in my hips and thighs.

    I give up on shapewear!

  4. mckalesmom: You win the CCF Tiara Award!! (If I knew how to import clipart - there would be a tiara posted).

Love that you really know your own style and have so much fun with your outfits!

BUT - 8 days away and you haven't packed yet - YIKES!! Not going to be concerned, though, since you seem to be organized:cool::)!

I bet lots of CCFs could tell funny "forgot to pack" stories! My one and only (thank goodness) time was when he arrived at the port on a cloudy day...and I left my sunglasses in the car! The sun came out at SailAway...and I could see the car in the parking lot, but no way to retrieve the glasses! Since they were prescription, plain old lenses wouldn't work, so DH bought me a sun visor at our first port; and that worked!

    LOL Thanks!!!

Yeah, I like to pack everything at once. Will spend the whole evening/night before packing. Don't want to jinx myself but I haven't forgotten anything yet!!! And I am one of *those people* who bring the over the door shoe rack and the whole kitchen sink with us.

Bummer about the sunglasses. All fashionistas must have their sunglasses. LOL jk. Bet you looked cute in the visor.

  5. oooh i love this thread!

The caribbean is 8 days away for me. :D

I am bringing 3 outfits per day. A sundress for morning/day time. I love sundresses and have acquired many over the years. I have coordinating sandals for most of them. Yay. I am still wearing these to work (sometimes with a flower in the hair) even though summer is over. I don't care, I pretend I am on an island all day. HAHA

Anyway the second outfit would be whatever I am going to wear to dinner, all dresses of course! The little black dress, the fitted hourglass dress, the formal dress, the 50's swing dress. =)

And then I will have an extra casual outfit such as capris and a top or pants ans a top for night time when it is cooler.

And then the swimsuits. Yay. I am all about dressing for body type. I am tall with a pear figure, so one pieces don't fit me correctly - they ride up. I am too self conscious to wear a bikini so I chose halter takini's with boy shorts. I have a green and white gingham with white lace, black with pink polka dots, and animal print.

I'm so excited to wear all these clothes. Yay :D

  6. Sorry, I know this probably gets asked a lot and I searched before starting a new thread but everything I found was about carnival.

Does anyone know if TV's on the Dawn have hookups for video game consoles or dvd players?

We are in the 2 bedroom family suite if that matters.

I tried to tell these kids they won't need these devices but the 13 year old is nervous about going to the teen club and has been hinting that he prefers to stay in the room. It is his first cruise so I really hope he changes his mind once we get there.
