  1. Did you see the couple of the eagles landed on one of the stores in town and they were going after some food - maybe popcorn or something on the ground?

Did you go to the M&G? We had a pretty decent one and got a bridge tour out of it.

There was one eagle that was landing on a couple of the stores. Unfortunately I never saw it going after any food on the ground. Here is one of the pictures I got while on a store.

We did not do the M&G on this cruise as we did not know about Cruise Critic at the time. We did do the behind the scenes tour and that was very interesting. I believe the cost was around $55.00 and I thought it was well worth it. Here are some of the pictures of the behind the scenes tour.

This machine was very cool, it folded the bed sheets.

  2. That would have been interesting to do the Star when she was new, especially on that unique route. When we went to Hawaii in 2006, NCL had the 3 ships there and while we looked at going on the Wind for the 10 day to Kiribati vs. the America, we opted for the newer ship. Glad we went at that time because the prices were great for any of the ships vs once they went to one ship.

As far as what we did on the Star - in Ketchikan we took the duck tour around the city and then into the bay area then walked around town some. In Juneau we got into the main town area then took one of the old school buses (complete with leaky roof) to Mendenhall then back and walked around town some.

In Skagway, we had the car rented and did the drive then after returning the car we walked around town some. There was an app that one of the tour guides had complete with a pdf document that narrates the trip. We didn't use much of the narration - we just had our DD read what we were seeing based on the mileage markers or other landmarks.

In PR, yes, not a ton to do and we got there in the later afternoon. We walked around town quite a bit and saw some of the sites. DW got some gifts at the home goods store.

Here are a few pics from PR:

Loved your flower pot VW Bug photo. I thought maybe we would have been lucky enough to have run into you at some point on the trip, maybe an excursion, oh well it looks like we did not. I did really like all of the ports (other than Prince Ruppert) and would love to do the cruise again. In Prince Ruppert I did not take a lot of pictures around town but I did start my fascination with birds in flight pictures so I will always remember Prince Ruppert for that. Here are a couple of pictures that I took in PR.

My first bird in flight picture that started the fascination. I chased that eagle around town for quite a while.

Walking around town with a tour guide, this was one of our first stops.

    DSC_00263.jpg

They did have some beautiful flowers all around town and I did take quite a few pictures of them.

  3. Did you do the Star when it was in Hawaii? It had some strange routes in the early days when the whole NCL Hawaii thing launched and the PoA was delayed.

Some folks on here have posted some of the early history of the Star and it is interesting. I also recall seeing some of the little awards in the area of the Star where they post those things and it is interesting to see where she has all been but not widely known.

We were also on the Star prior to that trip but it was in 2009 for a Pac Coast repo.

dexddd, Yes we did the Hawaiian cruise on the Star, it was in 2002. At the time the Star had to visit a foreign country to be allowed to cruise the Hawaiian Islands so one of our ports was Fanning Island. Fanning Island is in the middle of nowhere (more than 1000 miles from Hawaii) and is extremely remote and primitive. There was not a lot to do but it was very interesting seeing the natives and how they lived. I did some snorkeling and then we mostly just walked around. It took a while to get there and we were not in port for very long before we had to turn around and make the trip back. In addition to Fanning Island we had stops in Hilo, Maui and Kauai. It was a great cruise but we were still cruising virgins:D and did not really know what we were doing.

  4. Well, almost the same cruise. We were on the Star and sailed out of Seattle on 8/20/11. We both were in port in Skagway on the same day then as I recall you guys getting the closer parking spot (closer to the train).

I've got some pictures of your ship that I'll have to post - not all were in Skagway though, we ran into you another day or two.

We had heard good things about Dyea but we ended up renting a car at budget and driving up there. Once we got close the weather was pretty decent but then kind of gray and ultimately light rain after we walked around town a bit and headed back to the ship.

dexddd, Well as it turns out I had my ships mixed up (I guess that's what happens when I am lacking sleep:o). We were on the Pearl on our next trip after our Alaska trip. We were on the Star with you:D, what a small world. Our parents decided to give us a cruise with each of my siblings and their spouses and we had a family reunion. We were in a balcony room. The Star was also our first cruise ship we were ever on. This was many years before the Alaskan cruise. The Star was only 6 months old and it did not even have a casino.

It is so funny that many of the pictures that you took (Yukon sign, Carcross Desert sign and Emerald Lake angle) are all very similar to my pictures. I even have a picture of the Pearl. I did not take any pictures of the fog as we never stopped when it was foggy. The driver we had was pretty nervous driving in it. Here are a couple of additional pictures I took from areas that the driver pulled over and we were able to walk around for a bit.

    DSC_0961.jpg

    DSC_0919.jpg

Dyea Dave Tours was a good way to see a lot of spectacular areas but it really was a very long day with a lot of driving. We were pretty tuckered out by the time we got back to town.

What other excursions did you do on the trip? In Ketichikan we went on the Aleutian Ballad (Season 2 boat on Deadliest Catch) and went crab fishing. In Juneau we went on a whale watching trip with Harv and Marv's (FANTASTIC!). In Prince Ruppert (can't remember if that was the right port or not as it was very boring) we did not do much other than walk around town. I can understand why they are no longer stopping there, really not much to do.

Very strange how this all worked out to find out that we were on the same Alaskan cruise, amazing! Thank you osubuckeyemom - (Cathy) for bringing up your Alaskan cruise next month and started this whole thing:).

  5. I recognized it as we were there in 2011. We had a nice drive up there although a bit foggy start and then sat at customs a bit. Kids still talk about the sand dunes being like from Star Wars and the "special" bathrooms they had at the dunes.

dexddd, Did you drive up to Emerald Lake while in Skagway port or was it another trip? While in Skagway port we drove to Emerald Lake via Dyea Dave Tours and we also ran into dense fog to start the trip. Our driver said that fog like we had was not common. Wouldn't it be amazing if we were actually on the same cruise:D. We were on the August 21, 2011 cruise on the Pearl. The sand dunes were very cool although we did not get a chance to see the "special" bathrooms.

  6. Thank you for your good wishes and information. Sail next June wanted to be sure to get the cabin I desired. Not first suite on Norwegian but first time on Breakaway. Everyone but me lives in NY and are but a quick cab ride from the port. I fly to NY often to visit daughter. Have no doubt it will be fabulous..my daughter and niece are 30 somethings. we moms are a bit older than that :-) I'll figure something out if I can convince my daughter and cousin to sail. Now I'm getting ready for 2 weeks on Amsterdam in Alaska We sail in just over a month. Can't wait.

Happy Sailing to you as well

    Cathy

Cathy, Two weeks................ what an incredible cruise you have coming up :D. We loved our Alaskan cruise and we could have spent a month in that spectacular state. Here are a couple of pictures from our cruise to help hold you over until your trip.

Have a wonderful time on your cruise and let us all know how it went:).

  7. OSU - below is a pic of the sofa bed.

Couple others showing a shattered glass panel in the Haven retractable roof. There were actually 3 total.

Also, the movable door between the DOS and OS. The one also shows where the door would get stowed.

I really have mixed feelings about the room. Lots of positives but the movable door leaking sound was an issue and I'm guessing we probably leaked our noise over to the neighbors as well. Can't believe the two best categories on the ship have to have this issue.

    BA10_zps388aca0c.jpg

dexddd, Were the shattered panels on the retractable roof there from the beginning of the cruise or do you think they happened while you were on the cruise? I don't remember seeing any on our cruise. I wonder if SuiteCruiser noticed any on their cruise. That certainly does not look good.

The noise from the other room was a minor factor for us but we only heard our neighbors a few times. That would not be a deal breaker for us to not take the room again. A better design certainly could be used in my mind.

  8. We have a family cruise coming up with both the OS and DOS booked and have requested the wall be opened for the duration (that was a story in itself since nothing is clearly documented that the wall can be removed). Will post a review and pics of the mega suite after we get back in July. Can't wait!!!

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

TravelJoe, Looking forward to the review and the pictures of the mega suite when you get back in July:).

  9. I'm barefoot all of the time unless out of the cabin and never had any issue, I'm glad I didn't know about the glass shards :) I did notice the stains still on the carpet, but it wasn't a big deal.

For the door, the builder is who insisted on putting it in, must be as a windbreak of some sort, but it seemed strange having it there. Ruth said they already had to fix the one on the Getaway, so she didn't understand why they needed to put it in. I preferred the wide open expanse of the deck for sure, but when there were done with it, it looked like it had always been there. We did open it wide and thought the way it was hung that if the wind took it, it would smash the window behind it. It was fine opened slowly, but I wouldn't want to be there if it unlatched and came swinging back at the window.

SuiteCruiser, Glad to hear you did not have any issues with the glass shards:). Did they do anything different with the balcony furniture after the door was put in (tie the furniture up while at sea without the door and leave it untied at sea after the door was put in)?

  10. Thanks for that info. socrdad and dexddd. Have booked and taking my niece but trying to convince her mother and my daughter to join us. Since we're all family we can "double up". Not sure I want to spring for adjoining cabin :-)

    Cathy

Cathy, It is very exciting that you have booked the suite, I am sure you are going to have a fabulous time. In my opinion the hide-a-bed in the living room would be a little crowded with two grown women sleeping on it (not sure of the ages of your niece or daughter). If your daughter and niece's mom join you, and your daughter and niece are grown, you may want to check into a rollaway bed (I am not sure if they have them or not). Two people can easily sleep on the master bedroom king bed and not have an issue at all.

When are you sailing? Is this your first time in a suite on Norwegian? Please let us know how your cruise went when you return:). HAPPY SAILING!!

  11. We were in your cabin right after you :) The March 9th sailing. They installed the door about halfway through the trip, they were careful to work around our schedule, so they didn't interrupt us at all and did the work while we were out. They gave us 3 bottles of wine for the trouble.

I don't understand the need for the door either, it was kind of interesting to see the deck both ways.

We had a good trip, and loved the suite. The Breakaway is not my favourite ship, but we still had an excellent time and were very well pampered :)

Thanks for the great review and pictures, funny they were still cleaning the carpet again when we arrived!

SuiteCruiser, Good to hear from you and get the timeline in place as you were in the suite after us and before dexddd. Did they give you a reason for putting the door in? Since you were able to sail with the balcony door in place and without the door in place, did putting the door in have much of an effect to the balcony in your mind (make it feel or look completely different or not much difference)? Did they give you an explanation as to why they were cleaning the carpet? Hopefully you did not have any problems with little glass shards still left in the carpet. We never went barefoot in the suite after the damage and we were still picking out the glass shards up to the morning we departed.

Glad to hear you had a excellent time and loved the suite. Norwegian certainly knows how to pamper their suite guests:D. The suite is certainly a beautiful way to cruise for 7 days!

  12. Does anyone know if the bed can be split into 2 twins?

    Thanks

    Cathy

    Cathy,

The bed is a king bed and I believe the only way they can turn it into twin beds is to take the king bed out and replace it with twin beds. I do not believe it is like the beds in other cabins that can be split in two. I would check with the pre-sailing concierge and try and make arrangements before sailing, if already booked. There is the sofa bed in the living room that can be used as a bed also.

  13. I sailed the Breakaway in March and, I'll be honest, I very nearly cancelled in the months leading up to it. Reading bad review after bad review nearly scared me off.

Of course, if you've read my review (linked in my signature), it turned out to be the best vacation I've ever had.

So I'm curious: For people who, like me, read the bad reviews... what most surprised you the most as far as things you feared... only to find out there was no need?

In other words, what pleasantly surprised you by being far better than you'd expected based on the reviews?

    Richard/Tralfie

Richard, Well of course our biggest surprise was the great people we met on the cruise;). Other than that we would say the thing that surprised us the most was the friendliness of the employees and that every cruiser we talked to had a great time. We kept hearing on all of the negative reviews that all the employees could not wait to get off the ship and were anything but pleasant. They also mentioned that every passenger they talked to hated the ship and had a miserable time. From our experience we found that both of these complaints could not be further from the truth. All of the employees were extremely pleasant and over the top friendly. This was not just the ones in the Haven area but everyone we encountered throughout ship. We also talked with at least 30 people and asked them how they liked the cruise and the ship. Every one of them loved it!!!

    Steve and Ann

  14. Love the self guided cabin crawl. Lol did you take any photos?

    -Ginger

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

Ginger, Unfortunately we had packed the camera so we did not get any pictures. I am not sure pictures would have done any good because most of the rooms were annihilated, it may have scared people away from cruising:eek:. We really felt sorry for the cabin stewards. It amazed us with how fast they are able to turn around the rooms. Turn around day (departure and arrival) has got to be a day that the crew just dreads.

  15. Well onward we go to the final day.........

    Day 7

I woke up early to catch the last bit of us cruising up the Hudson River to dock. The New York skyline is very beautiful during the early morning hours and at dawn.

    NewYorkandBreakaway930.jpg

    It was a beautiful morning.

    NewYorkandBreakaway936.jpg

We were in no hurry to get off the ship as our flight out of JFK was not until 4:20pm. We would have been happy being the last ones off the ship but decided they would probably need extra time to clean our room from the earlier storm damage. The carpet was still stained and there were glass shards still in the carpet. We were out of our room about 8:40am.

Let me back track a little bit. ........ One of our objectives on this cruise was to see as many different room categories as possible. We will be cruising on the Getaway or Breakaway again and we may never have another chance of staying in the Deluxe Owners Suite on a future cruise. I had thrown out the suggestion of having a cabin crawl on our CC roll call but there did not seem to be any interest. This was our first cruise knowing about and joining CC. As much as I wanted to do a cabin crawl, I certainly did not want to be in charge of it as I have never participated in one.

As most CC members do, I researched everything I could find from the moment this trip was planned. Sixteen months of reading everything from the time the ship was being built to her maiden voyage. One of the highlights was the now famous CC "gambee" ultimate review of the Breakaway. Reading his review and seeing his pictures really got us more excited for our cruise. It just so happened that we had a CC member on our cruise that was staying in the famous gambee room - Richard/Tralfie. After we had dinner with Richard at Teppanyaki on Thurday, Richard was nice enough to give us a tour of his room, we were thrilled!! It was so nice of Richard to allow us into his room to tour it, we are forever greatful:). The room was great and the balcony was huge. We peaked around the corner at the Haven Aft Facing Penthouse, the balcony was ginormous:eek:. The ship was sailing and there was no wind, the balcony can be used while we are sailing. We have never sailed while staying in the back of the ship but we are thinking our next cruise we may have to give it a try:D.

We were out of the room early but we certainly were not ready to get off the ship. We did not want to eat breakfast as we figured we would have a lot of time at the airport and eating would kill out some of the time. We decided we would have our own cabin crawl and set out to look at as many different cabins as possible. It is really an easy way and time to see the different cabins as the cabin doors are open and it is easy to see if a room has been cleaned or not. We only entered dirty rooms as we did not want to go in any room that had already been cleaned. In the Haven area we saw the Owners Suite, 2 Bedroom Family Villa and Courtyard Penthouse. We then headed to the back of the ship where we saw another Aft-Facing Large Balcony and the Haven Aft-Facing Penthouse with Large Balcony. We also saw a regular balcony room and a handicapped balcony room. We had a great time sneaking around.

We were back up to the Haven about 10am to get escorted off by Ruth. We were off the ship in no time. We were waiting in the line on the dock for quite a while before we notice that they had a different line for Haven guests, silly us. Once we got in the Haven line, which had no people in it, getting to customs was a breeze. Getting through customs went very fast and we found our luggage immediately. We were crossing the crosswalk to the taxi line when a person came up and asked if we were needing a taxi and grabbed a bunch of our luggage and off we went. He was a very interesting individual from India that had been in New York for about 10 years. We had a great conversation with him, he was awesome! His father had come over to the US and sponsored all of his children and his entire family was living in New York. There were five grown children and three of the five grown children had spouses and children. All family members were living together in their father's home. Six families and 18 people living together under one roof:eek:. This may be common in New York but it does not happen in Montana.

Our flight home was non-eventful and as much as we tried, we could not get bumped off our flight to extend our vacation just a little. We were back at home by midnight. It was a wonderful trip and one we will forever remember.

I will finish this up later with some final thoughts and either confirming or refuting some of the most common complaints. Thanks for reading along!

  16. Great writeup and thread! We're sailing in July and have both the DOS and OS booked, and (after much frustration) was able to find someone that agreed that the wall can be removed for the cruise and will have it opened up when we arrive. Will post some pics of the combined area afterwards. Don't have a PH booked as it's not large enough for the other family members, so we're stuck with a 2-bedroom Family suite down the hall

TravelJoe, What a great trip that is going to be. Combining both rooms should turn it into a phenomenal mega suite!!! I think Bermuda is the perfect destination for the DOS and OS. Three continuous days in port that you will be able to take full advantage of the balcony. I loved that balcony while in port:D. It should be even better being able to combine both balconies.

I really don't think having the 2 bedroom family suite down the hall is a problem at all. The PH suite is really off by itself anyways as there is just a connecting door instead of the front door. Not much of a difference in my mind and they get a bigger room. Have a fantastic trip and I hope to hear how it went when you get back.

  17. Glad to hear what a trooper she is.

    Kudos to her.

Having never experienced sea sickness, I cannot comment. I do, however, experience car sickness (as a passenger). It's just not fun at all. Still, I cannot imagine going through that storm on a ship at sea. I have pics from the BA's maiden TA showing some rough seas. Let's see if I can find it.

Every Day at Sea is a Great Day

Robin, My DW gets car sick too. She is usually ok as long as she is driving or in the front passenger seat. Although, if it is a winding road all bets are off. If she is in the back seat it is a lost cause no matter what kind of road we are on.

Thanks for showing the pictures. I love the one with the water flying out of the pool:eek:. I really wish our storm would have been during daylight hours. I would have liked to have seen the waves better. The limited visibility due to the darkness gave it a very eerie look and feel.

July will be here before you know it. I am anxious to hear all about your trip when you get back:).

  18. Been a bit behind. The reviews and dailies in the link give a pretty good idea of the shows - mostly local geared entertainment or at times locals coming on board to do a show.

We did the 11 day which is a bit different as they tend to bring on some guest speakers from the islands who have cultural lectures during the sea day afternoons. We went to these and found them great. Didn't go to all the night shows but after a couple crew suggesting we go to the crew show we did and it was by far the best, even better than most regular shows on ships. It was well scripted and not just one person doing a trick then the next playing the piano, it was a true show.

Sorry for hijacking your thread, so if you want to drop me an email, use my CC screen name at hotmail.com.

dexddd, Thanks again for the information. I certainly do not consider this hijacking the thread. I find it interesting and hopefully others do as well. Definitely something that we will consider for a cruise in the future. I appreciate all your input and time you have spent corresponding. I have found that writing reviews take a lot more time than I thought they would. It is difficult to clear a block of time to get things posted other than the weekends:(. Thanks a bunch!!!!!

  19. Sorry to hear that your wife felt so sick. That stinks. Of course that nasty storm and damage didn't help!

Looking forward to reading the rest :)

Robin, My DW is a trooper. We have not found the ideal remedy yet for sea sickness with her. We both take 2 non-drowsy Dramamine starting a day or two before the cruise and then 2 each day on the cruise. It certainly helps her a lot as she would not make it an hour without them. There just always seems to be a day or two during the cruise that she gets effected and gets sick. Of course huge waves certainly do not help the situation! She still loves to cruise and these are just minor setbacks for her:).

  20. Well looks like I will have time for another chapter in the review........

    Day 6

We are down to the last 2 days. I have already reviewed part of our Saturday as Saturday morning was the morning of our big storm and damage. I will copy my earlier post to put it in the proper time frame.

The red stains on the carpet were actually M&M's (peanut and regular) that mixed with wine from the mess that happened from the night of the storm. We were going to address this when we got to that night on our cruise review but I will post it a bit early.

For those of you that did not hear about our storm night, it happened on Friday night. We woke up in our room about 4:30am as the boat was really rocking and rolling. About 5am we heard a crash in the bathroom and we had our soap dish slide off the counter and hit the floor. We turned on the tv to watch the navigation channel and the channel was saying we were in 43.5 foot waves. We were enjoying the ride and laughing about it, it was kind of fun. At 5:30am there was a major crash in the living room. We went out to investigate and there was a huge mess as most of the items on our counter came crashing down. Even the wine glasses on the upper glass shelves flipped over the glass barrier that were there to stop that from happening.

Here is a picture of the bar area with a lot of the stuff that came crashing down. If you look in the upper corner of the blue bar you will see the wine glasses that came crashing down. This picture was taken at the start of our cruise so there were lots of personal items along with 3 additional bottles of wine that were on the counter when they came crashing down.

    NewYorkandBreakaway044.jpg

To give you some reference, here is a picture of waves from our balcony that were at 10.5 feet. This is on the 16th floor so things tend to look smaller than they really are.

    NewYorkandBreakaway908-1.jpg

Here are some pictures of the waves about 15 minutes after the crash in the living room. I would have taken more (I really wish I would have taken a video) but I was getting a bit queasy looking out the front balcony.

    NewYorkandBreakaway920-1.jpg

    NewYorkandBreakaway919-2.jpg

Here is the damage that happened in the living room. This is after I cleaned it up a bit. I finally gave up trying to clean it up and called the butler. The person that answered asked if we had damage because they were calling in all butlers and all cabin stewards as many cabins had damage. Our butler said of his 10 cabins, 7 of them had damage.

    NewYorkandBreakaway918-1.jpg

Yes if you look close you will see a pair of thong underwear. It was the pair of underwear that my DW had caught at the Rock of Ages show that night.

Here are the M&M stains on the carpet after everything was cleaned up.

    NewYorkandBreakaway944.jpg

The captain came on over the intercom system (in the rooms) at about 6am to announce that there had been some reports of damage and he wanted to calm people's nerves over the storm. He said there was a low pressure system that was lingering longer than forecasted and we would be exiting it in the next few hours. He said at that time we were in 30 foot seas and they would continue to decrease in size. He said the ship was holding up very well. The butler and room steward showed up and cleaned everything up. It was definitely an eventful experience.

After the crash in the living room my DW got up to take a look at the damage and the smell of the wine put her in an immediate sickness so it was back in bed for her with a trash can near by. She continued to be sick for most of the day. We really just took it easy and laid in bed watching movies. We ordered in lunch, really our only meal we had delivered to the room. I order a specialty pizza (the $5.00 anytime, anywhere pizza) and my DW ordered in some crackers. The pizza was just ok as it was delivered just barely warm.

My DW started feeling better by evening and we decided we would head to our final dinner of the cruise. There is no better place than Cagney's to top off a memorable cruise. I again ordered the filet mignon and it was back to the superb tasting dish that I had encountered on our first dinner at Cagney's. My wife also had the filet and it was superb also.

As we were finishing up dinner, Richard/Tralfie showed up. We were very thankful that he stopped by as we were able to wish him a belated birthday (since we forgot when we saw him on his birthday the night before). He said he had a great birthday and had won $1,000 in the casino the night before. That would be our last visit with Richard, what a great guy!

After dinner we needed to pick out our professional pictures that we had taken of us throughout the cruise. There were a total of 53 pictures that we had taken. They offered two packages that we could purchase - 10 pictures for $119 or 20 pictures for $199. We wanted to purchase all the pictures and I offered them $300 for all 53 pictures or we would just take the 20 picture package. They would not go with the offer and said if we wanted to buy all of the pictures we would have to pay for an additional 20 pictures and then pay for an additional 10 pictures plus the 3 individual pictures. I really think they should come up with an additional unlimited photo package as I think they could make some additional money (it cost them an additional $100 they could have gotten from us). If nothing else, they should offer some additional options for pictures over 20 with discounted pricing.

We also had to visit customer service as I noticed an error on our bill. They had charged me for a dinner at Cagney's but credited back the lobster charge. When the unlimited dining package is purchased they still charge the specialty restaurant fee on the bill but then they credit it back. In our case they just credited the wrong part of dinner. There was a very short line for the customer service counter. The representative was very pleasant and took care of the error in a flash. The only problem was IMPAC was having their final concert in the atrium which is right next to the customer service counter. We literally had to yell at the customer service rep to be heard and he needed to yell back. Really not the best setup but I guess they only have that problem when bands are playing. It was fun watching the other guests yelling back and forth and the phrase "WHAT DID YOU SAY" was being used a lot. I know there have been a lot of complaints about the customer service reps but we did not encounter that at all. There was even a group that actually high fived their customer service rep when they left.

Overall it was a very low key day, very relaxing for me. I felt bad for my DW and her sea sickness. It must not have been too bad as she still wants to cruise again, hurray!!!!

Coming down the home stretch and I apologize with the amount of time this is taking to post. Work just keeps getting in the way but I should be able to get this completed very soon.

  21. Here is the best picture review plus loads of info on the ship including the dailies which talk about the entertainment. I'll give some of our experiences as well.

Plenty to keep us busy and really liked the ship. Reminded me of the old Princess Love Boats which I was on in the 80's. It is actually very close in size but carries about 1/2 the people as I recall.

dexddd, Thanks for the link! They wrote a great review and the pictures were fantastic! The ship looks very nice and there certainly are some beautiful ports. Something to think about as next year will be our 30th anniversary:D and we are looking for a special trip.

My DW does run into sea sickness problems at times and I like the fact that there is not a lot of time spent sailing. Looking forward to hearing about some of your experiences. Thanks again:)
