  1. The UK version of ncl.com describes 10160 as an 'oceanview cabin' , not a balcony, though it is a category BB. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of this cabin? Also, my son is in 10660. Any info on this cabin?

    Thanks

  2. I'm hoping Park West invites us on a cruise. We have been to two land events, and bought several pieces at each one, so maybe we're slowly inching our way on to the list of possible invitees. Maybe I should email our contact there...

Hi Dana...No one was more surprised than I to get the invite  :D.....not sure what criteria they use, or if they just use a lottery system.

It was short notice, and it was a horrible time to take off of work, but the fact that it was an Alaskan cruise made it impossible for me not to accept, and maybe I will find a piece that I love.

  3. Hi,

About 3 weeks ago, I was offered a complimentary cruise from Park West Galleries to Alaska on the Pearl, 9/7/14. An Alaskan cruise was on my bucket list, so I accepted. I have been to a VIP land event before, and it was wonderful.

Has anyone else received this offer and are going? Anyone been on a previous Park West VIP cruise?

Any comments, or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

  4. the infamous Manhattan with the last "a' replaced.

BUT - they still have it wrong. What is marked Manhattan is really New Jersey and the sliver of unmarked area should be marked Manhattan!

    lol.

AND....It says NAG Harbor off the eastern south shore of Long Island. No such place. There is a SAG Harbor, but that is on the north side of the South Fork

  5. I thought more than half of the M6 balcony is open to the decks above??

M6, the largest balcony is 2/3 exposed.

    B6 is 1/2 exposed.

I still stand by my opinion that more than half the m6 balcony is covered.

According to the cabin detail info on NCL's European site, which seems more consistent, the M6 balcony is 118 sq. ft., and the B6 balcony above it is 70 sq. feet. Right there tells you that 70 sq. ft., or more than half, is covered.

Taking it further, using (gulp ) math, assuming a width of 9 ft. for both M6 and B6 balconies, 118 divided by 9 equals 13 feet deep, and 70 divided by 9 equals 7.7 feet deep. Therefore 7.7 feet, or more than half, of the M6 balcony is covered.

  6. I'm not sure I agree with you. On one cruise our balcony was not totally covered and in the morning we'd come out to a lot of garage, including cigarette butts, on our balcony. Add to that hats, a few t-shirts, etc. The kids enjoyed going out each day to see what items were there but I wasn't amused with the trash. (This was Royal, not Norwegian.)

Free hats and T-Shirts!!! Another plus :D

They're probably gifts and bribes from other cruisers wanting to use the Large balcony :p

  7. I'm in a M6 in two weeks?I plan on doing a cabin crawl to check out the different rooms.I will let you know what I think.I think the M6's will be the cabins to get if you can't find any open deck space by the pools with 4k people onboard.Time will tell:DYou really can't go wrong with either one, your on vacation!

And remember, you're in MY cabin (just 2 weeks earlier than me is all) :)

So take care of it, and remember, DEFEND the loungers!!! :D

  8. Maybe the lack of privacy? From the upper decks you can see down onto the balcony.

More than half of the 13 feet depth of the balcony is covered, and completely 'private' . If you want to sunbathe and move out to the end, then yes, you are visible, but no more so than if you were on the sun decks, yet you have the convenience of being only steps away from your own cabin. And ditto everything Joeski states about location. I agree, go for the M6

  9. I put together a spreadsheet to consolidate the cabin and balcony sqft info. This should be helpful to have on one page. I was struggling between browsers tabs and NCL and CC threads to ascertain what should be a simple quest.

I'm counting on you all to help fill in the blanks. All assistance, comments, and suggestion for improvements are welcome.

    As you can see the Doc needs more input. :p Specifically I know it needs the knowledgeable CC members help with;

    S9 balconies really 54 sqft?

    S6 note #4 accuracy?

    M1 note #6 regarding sqft?

    Note #9 bump/angle balconies increased sqft %?

    B6 sqft in and out?

    M6 balcony sqft really varies?

    MX and BX need info.

Any additional columns needed such as; tubs, # of bathrooms ;), king or queen bed, # of cabins per category, indicate fore, mid, aft location of cabin cat?

    I will update/edit often.

    Thanks
