Yes you do have to pay for your cabana immediately on your credit card. But it is TOTALLY worth it! Do it quick before they are gone!

This is my daughter's first year of college, and they have break the 2nd week of March this year. (Central Pennsylvania)

Every time we just looked at the Carnival website, we would get a call from Carnival wanting to help us book something. After about 20 of these calls, my husband told them not to call again unless they were giving us a free cruise. Stopped immediately!

Hi!
We use a "flameless candle" for a night light in the bathroom.
We also take an over-the-door shoe holder with clear pockets. We have 4 people in our room (including a teenage girl). This is a fantastic place to hold medicines, shampoos, curling irons, hair accessories, suntan lotion, etc. to keep them off of the counter tops since the space is so limited.
Also, lanyards for your sign & sail cards.
Fun times!

You never know when you will see a price drop. I've checked twice in one day and had it be different. Two years ago we booked a July cruise on Jan 21. We got price reductions on Feb 20, March 13, March 18, March 27, April 2, and April 5 before final payment. Then we got additional onboard credit May 15 and May 31.
This Carnival link is one shortcut to view prices, but it shows you the total minus the port fees & taxes. http://www.carnival.com/BookingEngine/FareViewer/#
Hope this helps.
