  1. We were on the Legend last month and had a great wait team. We are sailing on her again? next week. In the past I have always directly e-mailed the maitre'd (Ken Bryne) for any seating requests. I believe I read somewhere that this has changed and to contact John Heald a few days ahead of sailing and that he will send any requests to the maitre'd. Does anyone know if this is how it's done now?

  2. I booked in April for a February cruise, final payment is due this week. Trying to make final payment now. The balance due is coming up higher than my invoice. I talked today with a rude rep who raised her voice to me, put me on hold and after 10 minutes disconnected. That's why.

  3. Several days ago I called MSC Customer Service to apply my Voyagers Club Number and have my 5% discount applied. This rep was polite, but quoted me a price higher than the balance I had. She couldn't explain why and asked me send her my invoice. I did, and never heard back from her. I just called again and was also quoted the higher price. This rep said that I booked a TBA on April 20, and didn't call with my information until May 14th when the price had gone up. This isn't true, I gave all my information when I booked on April 20th. She became rude and accused me of calling her system a liar!  She also asked me to send her the invoice, but got very angry when I need her to repeat her e-mail address.  She put me on hold, after a while I realized she had no intention of coming back. I still need to get this settled, guess I'll try again.

  4. It looks like I should have done a little more research. We are platinum on both Carnival and NCL. I status matched us with Carnival, that makes us gold. If I used NCL, we would be black. I used Carnival because we have more cruises with them than with NCL.

  5. We are boarding the Pride in a few hours and will be able to drop off our carry ons first. Then head to Mongolian Wok for lunch. The lines for there are always long and we think that early on the first day it won't be that bad. Then we will explore the ship until time for muster. You are sailing right after us. Enjoy!

  6. Glad to see that Allyn Ball is still around! Haven't seen him in years and thought he was over the cruise ship scene. Love his comedy!

We saw Louis Johnson on Conquest a few weeks ago - very good! Will keep an eye on his website to see if he ever makes it to our neck of the woods!

Sorry but I recently read Allyn Ball's obituary. 58 years old, died 3/13.

  7. Yes, that or a driver's license. On our last cruise it came with a hole punched in it, which made it convenient for those who like to have it on a lanyard around their necks. If there is no hole you can have one punched at GS or the casino.

  8. Did you just seriously suggest "sedentary"? My second Carnival cruise we met a 90 year old woman who was traveling with her 93 year old boyfriend.

Carnival is for all ages. It really is what you make it. Not every 80, 90 or 93 year old requires " sedentary"!

Go on that cruise and enjoy yourself. My next 8 Carnival cruises will all be on The Splendor.

Like button! I hope this poster isn't serious about sedentary seniors.

  9. I check almost daily and never was able to see them available. On a whim I checked a few minutes ago. I did a double take, couldn't believe it. So 2 $500.00 cards, along with the 5 $100.00 cards I managed to get from AARP points will pay off our September cruise. We also got a $100. price reduction on the latest promotion. Happy dance goin on here!
