We are on Rhapsody sailing out of Venice Sept 22nd. Our cruise planner lists our time in Mykonos as 7am-4pm. Does this mean last boarding will be at 4pm or will we depart at 4pm with last boarding being earlier?

I am booking excursions and want to get the most of port time and need to book our transfer back to the ship.

We ended up eating the lunch in the ocean side terrace (the 3 course meal). I do have to say the food was very different from what we are used to ( a lot of fancy fish described in Greek on the menu that they cooked in the brick oven out on the terrace.) They did mention to us (because we weren't sure if we would have time to fit in the 3 course lunch, the outside terrace opened at 1:30 and we had a 2:30 departure back to the boat) that there was another quick service option, poolside, that included pizza and such. You could choose either option for lunch. I don't know if they would allow you to bring your own cooler. You can certainly ask that question when they email you. I had emailed back and forth a few times prior to completing our reservation. They were very quick with a response. I do hope that you get the reservations you were looking for at Saint John's, it was such a fantastic day (The only beach day we had the entire trip). I too had been looking for months when I had come across a forum mentioning this place. Someone later had said that they didn't offer day passes anymore during their busy season, but I figured it was certainly worth a try and emailed them anyway requesting them. To our surprise they replied almost immediately telling us that they were available. Best Day!

The menu was very formal and I am glad pizza is available for the teens as they are not adventurous enough for the regular menu!

Coolers are not permitted so I will order our drinks from the bar :)

Do you recall if they offered food choices such as pizza and burgers to satisfy the teens in our group? And, were you able to bring in any food or drinks with you? I hate paying resort prices for liquor and beer when we will probably have several drinks each. A case of beer in a soft sided cooler was what I would normally bring and then have a resort drink as a “treat”.

Pencruise, thank you for the advice. I have passes for the lounge as well. Do you remember what was offered in the VCE lounge? Snacks/Beverages? Hubby and I enjoy the lounge experience but our teens sometimes find it boring and lacking in snacks they enjoy.

Bizzie07, Do you recall how long it took from your leaving the ship to gather luggage and be ready to meet a port transfer? I was allowing 30 minutes and would now be rescheduling my pick up for 9:45am.

We are staying in an Owner’s Suite on a Rhapsody Greece sailing and will be Disembarking in Venice.

Scheduled arrival time in Venice is 6:45am.

Booked Car Transfer for 10am pick up at port

Flight departs from VCE at 1:45pm

Can we remain in the Concierge Lounge until 9:30-9:45am and then meet our driver at 10am on port? (I realize we must vacate our rooms at 8:30am)

Will breakfast be served in the concierge lounge on the morning on disembarkation?

There isn’t enough time to do a tour before our flight and I don’t want to be sitting at the airport 3+ hours...

Is this plan reasonable?

We are a group of 9 looking to do a day sail in Mykonos in September. I have spoken with 2 companies (Dolphin Navigation and Mykonos Cruising) about a private charter to Delos and Rhenia and the cost is approx 125-150 Euro per person.

Rhapsody of the Seas is offering a similar Mykonos Sail excursion for $125 CAD.

Huge difference in price! Is anyone familiar with the Royal Caribbean excursion? I am trying to determine if the extra cost for the private tour is worth it. The RCCL excursion does not state the size of catamaran or # of passengers.

I usually prefer the private tours but don’t want to waste the money if the RCCL is just as good!

We booked private tour with Rome in Limo and had a private tour guide for Pompeii (she was amazing with our kids and we arrived early before the tour buses), climbed Mount Vesuvius and then drove to Sorrento to make our own pizza at a local pizza shop. It was a very full and enjoyable day!

Group of 8 people requiring transportation from airport to apartment, Corte Barozzi Suites, for 3 days then to cruise port (Royal Caribbean) and then from cruise port to airport on day of our return. As we are a large group, we are considering hiring a private water taxi for each of the trips. Willing to pay extra for convenience. Looking at maps it seems a water taxi would be able to pick up and drop off close to our apartment? And this could be pre booked before arrival? Thanks in advance!

We sailed with Calabaza 3 years ago with our kids and it was a great experience. I recommend booking as early as possible. If they are unavailable you can try Silver Moon. We are sailing Silver Moon this year as a private charter and will be able to provide personal review and comparison of the 2 companies when we return in April.

I appreciate your recommendation to refrain from the HOHO bus. I was planning on buying passes before we leave, but will now look for other transportation around the city.

Is the bus/metro station easy to use and is there a 2 day pass available for purchase? We arrive Friday at noon and Epic sails on Sunday.

We are travelling on the Epic as well and will be in Cannes the week after you :)

The price is 495 Euros for the tour and the van can hold up to 8 people. The price does not change based on capacity. We are travelling as a group of 6 and are paying 495. If you are looking for others to share the cost, try posting a tour share on your roll call for 4 more people.

I have read good reviews of Revelation Tours and the driver Michel Legrand has been very nice to deal with and is willing to alter the tour itinerary to the sites you wish to visit. He does pick up directly at the port.

We are spending 2 days pre cruise in Barcelona mid October with children.

I have read about an amusement park (tibidabo) and a science museum (CosmoCaixa?) and also the fountains of Montjuic.

Any recommendations for these or other activities with an 8 and 10 year old are appreciated!

We are arriving at the Cannes port and plan to visit Monaco/Monte Carlo as well. Husband and I are F1 fans and have always wanted to see/drive on the Monaco track :)

If you have others travelling with you, may I suggest a private tour of the region? We have booked with Revelation Tours and in addition to Monaco/Monte Carlo we will be visiting Eze and Nice. Cost for a van that carries 8 people is 495 Euros.

My family of 6 (includes DH and I, our 8 year old daughter, 10 year old son and my parents) will be travelling in an Epic 2 Bedroom Haven Suite next month. We are a very close family and travel in shared accommodations a couple times a year. In Barcelona pre cruise we are all staying in a 2 bedroom apartment in CASP74.

For us sleeping arrangements will be my parents in the master (we switch who gets the master each cruise) and husband and I sharing with our daughter in pullman and son on couch.

Sharing accommodations dramatically decreases the cost of the vacation and increases the perks, allowing for more travel throughout the year :)

We are travelling in October with a family of 6 and have booked CASP74. Have not stayed there before, but reviews online were good, price was right and multiple hotel room booking was avoided :)

Just airports lists their largest MPV as holding 5 passengers. As we need transfer for 6, I am going to try Simply Airports. Hopefully we both have good experiences with these 2 companies :)

Would appreciate you thoughts on Park Plaza County Hall as well, especially the sofa bed, as we will be staying there with children in October.

We are in a similar situation requiring the same transfer from LHR to Park Plaza County Hall and return (but for 6 people) for October. I am having difficulty finding a company that I feel confident using as well.

I have read wonderful reviews for my transfers and and private tour bookings in Spain, France and Italy and booked accordingly. London is a puzzle though. There must be a cruise critic member who can recommend a private airport transfer company?

Please update with the company you book and your airport transfer experience. It will be much appreciated!

We used them in June 2012 both from Airport to Hotel and Cruise Ship to Airport. I would highly recommend them. No issues and everything went well.

Glad to hear your experience with them was positive. We are travelling with young kids and I like to have everything arranged before we travel. We are travelling on NLC Epic 10/12. I have yet to travel on Celebrity, but it is on my list :)

I was quoted 55 euros from Airport to CASP74, 45 euros from CASP74 to cruise port and 55 euros from cruise port to airport.
