Reading about the Limelight Club takes me back to the days of the Scampi and Chips in a basket circuit, in the likes of Baileys in Leicester in the mid 70s, watching the likes of the Drifters and Four Tops.

    Anyone else remember those days?

I was there. It was were I took my girlfriend when she visited (she lived in London), many years later we are still together married 43 years!!

We have visited Limelight club a couple of times and enjoyed the format

  2. We pre registered for the Ventura Caribbean cruise in December 2022. We have had the confirmation by email of our cabin, but the personaliser says type of cabin only.  It looks to me to have been entered as a Saver booking rather than the Select fare. I phoned customer care who confirmed our booking verbally and by email, and they also  registered no upgrade at my request which we wanted.   Today the Personaliser is still wrong.  I will leave it a while and check again, I am not concerned as still a very long way out but wondered if anyone else has come across this.

  3. Hi

Can you let me know how far from the cruise the final payment date is?

As UK based we do not have the ability to cancel at final payment and not lose our deposit. I know US travelers do, and assume after the final payment date a number of staterooms come available that X want to sell. We are looking ot wait to book and accept the risk of not going, on a July cruise.

    Thanks

Select dining is chaotic. Waiters are covering more guests than before, still with a smile, however with no time to engage with guests. It's a case of in -> fed -> out.

    .

HI Was on Reflection 2/12 with DW had no problems with Select dining which we did all 7 nights. Longest wait about 5 minutes, but then we do not mind if we share or where we sit, or that we have same waiters every night, we are capable of ordering what we want and do not need our preferences remembered. Service was good as ever, 1 night when we seemed to be getting through the meal quickly waiter was concerned and asked if we wanted gap between courses so as not to rush us.

  5. Just off Reflection Western Caribbean cruise which sailed 2 December. This is not a full review – there is already a very extensive one from a previous sailing just my observations. My DW and I are Select and we booked a balcony stateroom, so no suite aqua class or concierge

    1. Travel from UK on Virgin airlines and stayed night before at the intercontinental Hotel – both good and would do same again if sailing from Maimi.

    2. Embarkation - very smooth even with our onshore agent being very slow (stopping for a chat on getting our sea passes and his camera not working! Got there about 11:30 and on in about 30 minutes.

    3. Stateroom – 7252 – Mid to aft near the Hideaway - normal size view out over the lifeboats. Stateroom attendant Xavier very efficient. Strange that you do not get shower gel unless in a suite, however word to Xavier and enough brought to keep us clean for the week

    4. Food – Always very subjective – we only ate at Buffet and MDR plus 1 at Mast Grill. Food was good at the MDR we were on Anytime dining, we never booked longest wait 5 minurtes we sat alone and shared tables. We do not insist on sitting in the same section every night, all crew were helpful and attentive. The only issue we had was Sommelier lost DW sea pass, lots of apologies and a quick trip to Guest relations sorted it . One night our table companion complained about crème brulee to waiter, quickly the head of section appeared with 2 replacements also not only apologised but thank her for bringing it to his attention - all sorted

    5. Entertainment – Production shows usual good standard – guest performers – 2 x comedians, a little too American for our tastes, Beatles tribute act very good, Tenors of Rock excellent. Live music around the ship good. Did not enjoy the DJ perhaps showing my age – too loud and too much base

    6. Sun Beds – Saw the usual evidence of Chair Hogs – but as we tend to sit in Solarium or on Solstice deck always managed to sit were we wanted too even on sea days.

    7. Excursions – we went on ships tours as never been to these ports before, Tours themselves were good with the guides knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The crew organising from the ship not so good, problem 1 day on shore 3 crew members around just spent the time chatting whilst tour operator sorted it, no words to us. Also last day tour said they would explain procedure then did not. – Still only a minor irritation

All in all a very good enjoyable cruise but then we go with the attitude its our holiday we are going to enjoy it.

I hope this helps and would be happy answer any queries if I can help

  6. Just back from 2 week cruise on Azura to Madeira and Canary islands. This is not a full review rather my comments and observations. By way of background we have sailed previously with P&O, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. I travelled with DW in Stateroom B574 with DW’s mother in B576. The cabins are aft cabins good rooms but noisy due to wake. Also feel a lot of movement. The Steward, Rosario, was efficient friendly and helpful.

Embarkation and disembarkation- I have read lots of comments on this. Whilst embarkation went smoothly, we had 2:30 time arrived 1:40 went straight to check in and on ship and in cabin before 2:30, I would prefer the old system (and the one used by all other lines). Also with having to vacate rooms by 8:00am but not off ship till 9:45 they seem to need a lot more time than the other lines to prepare the cabins. I feel this is all done for convenience of the ship not the passengers.

Food- This is always subjective but our view was MDR was good up to the standard of Celebrity although different, as with most things very British. However the Buffet was not to our taste both in terms of the food and the layout and there is a lot of room for improvement. We also went to Sindhu (Indian speciality) and found it very good in terms of food and value for money.

Entertainment- The shows were good both the ships company and the guests only problem is the size of the venues means you have to be there early to get a seat. The daytime was the usual quizzes which were ok with the crew working hard to make them entertaining. There was a speaker, Terry Brown, a former policeman whose series of talks were informative and fun.

Overall it was a good cruise it was noticeable that it was British with the passengers almost all from Britain (not even many Irish!). We also found that the crew were helpful and pleasant without being over the top which is just as we like it.

However there were a few technical issues which although not major, together became very irritating – ie. Seascreen unavailable on one day only, advertised interview on internal tv not running with no explanation and unhelpful reception, and problems with the stage which held the show up by 15 minutes and staff coming out but saying nothing until the Entertainment Manager did so. So nothing major but just very irritating and everything started late – and it was not our watches!

  7. Hi

I would not bother. We have just come back of a 1 week cruise on Adventure of the Seas, with sons in different stateroom, we always do My Time Dining. Did not book either before we sailed or on board. We just turned up when we are ready. Longest wait was about 10 minutes and that was because we went straight after the Captain's reception along with everybody else. We sat in different sections at different times most nights, all waiters were good.

  8. Wow! With having to be on board 90 minutes prior to sailing that's cutting it really close, especially for a TA flight.

We are doing the same flight in from UK to land at 16:30 this weekend. This flight has just started up and I think will be very popular as it is I think the only direct one from the UK Not worried as flight is booked via RCCL so if delayed its their responsibility to get us on the ship.

  9. Is anyone else having problems with not being able to access their cruise. I can get on to one cabins reservation but not the other. Thank god I already printed my tags and other papers. Called over a week ago and they said it's a glitch and

They are trying to fix it.

Had some problem with both reservations for a cruise in 7 days. Managed to get documents emailed to me, but can access the rest of the details.

  10. It is ver frustrating...Our cruise is in 6 days and for the past 6 days I have not been able to log in! I called 3 times everytime I get a different excuse its annoying...I still cannot print any documents...

Had much the same problem we sail on 28th. I phone yesterday and helpful lady managed to access our documents and email them to me. TA tried the same earlier with no success, if they say they can access stay on phone till the email arrives. Good luck
