Yes, the new next cruise bookings have 2 dates to be aware of.

In order to get the OBC you have to select a ship and sail date within 2 months.

Failing that you can select a ship and sail date and not get the OBC for an additional 10 months or 12 months from the original booking on board or they do expire and you are out the $200.

Thank you for replying.  That's exactly what happened.

  2. We weren't quite so lucky.....we purchased 2 next cruise tickets on Harmony of the Seas in 2019.  Although still showing on our online account, we have since been told that they have expired!  Seems a bit harsh given that most of the period between purchase and now has been Covid times.  Has anyone else had anything similar?

  3. I live close to the port in Southampton and am used to hearing the ship's horns (and even sailaway parties if the wind is blowing the right way!) as the ships depart.  We've had quite a selection of RCI ships in recently including some which rarely dock here - Allure, Majesty, Empress.  It's surreal to hear the horns still though, knowing that the cruise ships are sailing albeit empty, save for a reduced number of staff.  Anthem of the Seas was the latest to leave on Saturday.....I hope it's not too long before we all get the chance to sail again.... 🤞

Yes! You can have it applied to cruises that are already booked.

That's great to know. Thank you for letting me know. We've just had one cancelled for October and want to use the FCC against next year's which is already booked 🙂

  5. Hi! I was disappointed to see that Carnival have removed the ability to browse / book cruises via their UK website, due to their decision to "consolidate". I'm disappointed about this, as I now need to browse via the US website (costed in $) and make a call to Carnival / Travel Agent for UK pricing / conversion. Seems to me that Carnival are distancing themselves from the UK market......any thoughts on this?

  6. I have to say that I think the Carnival staff are very good at enforcing the 30 minute waiting rule. On both Vista and Sunshine, vacant beds were duly stickered, and then items removed and bagged after 30 minutes (removed items were stored at the towel kiosk). People returning from their lengthy lunches, or in some cases from day trips on shore (!) were upset. Quite why people feel the need to reserve beds when they have no intention of using them for hours is beyond me.

  7. Wondering if anyone who already sailed on the Vista can comment on the food and snacks in the Family Harbor Lounge. We have a high school age boy and my husband who like to snack. We are trying to decide between a Family Harbor obstructed ocean view and the deluxe ocean view with 2 baths for the 3 of us. Our itinerary has lots of sea days so I can see them enjoying the Longe.

We found breakfast to be excellent - a mini version of what was available in the Marketplace, without the crowds. Cereal, fruit, yoghurt, cooked selection, pastries all available. Mid afternoon there was typically cookies, cakes and sandwiches available, reducing to cookies in the evening. Milk / milkshakes, ice cream and yogurts were almost always available.

  8. We are a family of five and I was looking into the Family Harbor suite. Just wondering who has already stayed in one and what your thoughts were?

    Are they spacious enough?

Is there a lot of noise being right under the MDR? (I believe this is true, right?)

Did you use the Family Harbor lounge?

    Any pictures?

    Thank you!:)

Hi. We are a family of 5 (13, 10 and 8 year old kids) and stayed in an outside Family Harbour suite. We found the stateroom spacious, with plenty of storage (and some to spare!). The two bathrooms were a godsend, particularly when everyone was trying to get ready for dinner!

We used the lounge a fair bit for breakfast (it was much quieter and convenient than the Marketplace), plus would pop in there for drinks and snacks on the way back to the room at various times of the day. It was great for the kids too, since they would often head there to chill.

  9. I was a bit miffed about this too. I bought the Bottomless Bubbles packages for the kids whilst on board, and was told that they could drink as much soda / juice as they wanted for the one off all inclusive price. Nobody mentioned the tax that would be levied for each drink :(. To be honest, if they had have done then I'd have bought the drinks packages anyway, but it's the fact that nobody told me in advance which annoyed me.

  10. Thanks for the link.

I would not want one of those suites right across the hall from the family harbor.

It's horses for courses I guess. I'm quite looking forward to it personally, as it'll be a convenient place for the children.

  11. Great info, thanks! Getting luggage on and off the bus a hassle? Do you know how much a taxi from the port/downtown to the airport would be?

Hi! We got a taxi to / from the airport / port when cruising on the Sunshine. For my family of 5, it was 50 Euros in each direction. There are an abundance of taxis at either end, so getting one should not be a problem. Hope this helps.
