Yes - sounds right. He's from Plymouth, UK.

    Esprit Athens to Dubrovnik

We just spent a week on the Espirit from Venice to Dubrovnik. We were lucky with the weather - it was beautiful - not at all like the cold winds of the week before. As others have stated, the service is superb, the food excellent, and the environment is very comfortable. We love the size because you can really get to know other guests. Tours were excellent - small groups and great guides. We only paid for two "special" ones, very other was included in our fare. Of the two, one was definitely not worth the price and, along with the one other couple with us, we complained and were not charged. Good customer service. We are, for the most part, not water sports people but we did enjoy a few small boat excursions. Oliver at the piano in the evenings was great fun - he's an entertainer, not just a piano player. I highly recommend the Crystal yacht experience. We'd do it again in a heart beat if their itineraries worked with our bucket list.

    Azamara vs Crystal-Newbie Asia 2019

Thanks so much all of you - this is very helpful to my husband and I as well. We are considering an itinerary that is very similar and wondering which one to choose. I like the idea of the relative informality of Azamera vs. Crystal and, as long as it's not a long voyage, perhaps the smaller cabins aren't as much of a concern.

    Promises, promises ....

Hondorner - sorry....this does seem confusing. We were assured by the sales representative after the presentation - we met with her in the sales office (can't remember the actual name they have for it).

PaulMCO - did you get the $1500 future cruise credit onboard?? I haven't heard of doing that (or don't remember it being mentioned). That certainly does sound like a better deal. Of course....anything is better than what we ended up getting ;)

    Promises, promises ....

Thanks for all of your posts re. this situation. When we found out that the cruise we wanted wasn't yet advertised, the sales representative suggested we book another just as a "place-holder" until it was advertised (she even suggested the cruise to pick because the date to change was closest to the time the advertisement would come out). We asked specifically if the free internet and gratuities were transferable and she answered in the affirmative. It was important for us to know because, without that, there wasn't much other advantage to booking onboard - the only other perk was a reduced booking fee (which isn't a big deal). So - I can honestly say, we did not misinterpret what she said or "hear what we wanted to hear". BUT....we were stupid enough to just take her word for it without getting it in writing. I wish that Oceania would believe us that their sales person misrepresented the offer but....I guess they have to assume that we misunderstood because we haven't got the paperwork to prove it. We've learned a tough lesson. Hopefully, by posting this, it will be a help to others.

So what do we think about O's new website?

Thanks, Mike - it worked. AND I got a fairly quick response from filling out the form on the website too (that's impressive!). But....I think that there should be a note to this effect on the site itself to tell people of this. I would not normally fill in my birthdate on a form ;)

    Promises, promises ....

Has anyone else encountered this situation with Oceania ? While on an Oceania cruise last year, we attended an on-board presentation on future cruises. The audience was told that, if we booked on-board, we would get free gratuities and unlimited internet. We were also told that we could make one change and these benefits would be carried over to the new cruise. We booked a cruise while on-board and subsequently changed it to a later cruise that we really wanted. However, Oceania now tells us that we can't get the promised benefits -- apparently because our chosen cruise is too popular. We do feel that Oceania is reneging on its marketing promise by not giving us free gratuities and unlimited internet.

So what do we think about O's new website?

Hi Mike, I didn't actually use the old site much - found it wasn't very intuitive. This one is much better. BUT - our past cruises and Oceania points are also not under my profile. How do we report this? I actually sent a message through the form on the site but am not sure how responsive that is.
