Are the flavored waters sugar-free?

I called the CAS rep who helped with our reservation for July on the Breakaway after they made some changes to the program on April 1. We booked with my boyfriend's Total Rewards Diamond discount this time, so I wanted to ensure they didn't change the rules for the drink cards because I would have changed our promo to the UBP. He told me that the drink cards are still just dependent on how you book, and are still included for those using TR Diamond discounts. I would be fairly certain, therefore, that you will also be fine if booked with a discount or comp directly through CAS.
I'm still so confused.
What are the CAS changes that took place on April 1st?
In the past, I've booked through CAS and gotten a discount, boarded the ship as "Lucky" but always had the drink card for booking through CAS. Has this changed?

May I ask which level you are? And, what type of stateroom did they comp you for? I've seen on the CAS website that drink cards are no longer given to players who are the "Lucky" level.

I am the "Lucky" tier (green card) but am only comped an inside cabin. I pay to upgrade to a mini-suite. Am I no longer eligible for the drink card?
-
If you are comped, let's say an oceanview cabin, is it possible to purchase an upgrade to a suite? I have done this in the past. However, recently, I thought I had read that this is no longer possible. The maximum upgrade you can purchase is a mini-suite. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of this?

Just never understand how folks on a cruise are so annoyed by such little things. Maybe those that leave the balcony lights on will be charged $250!!

I was on the Breakaway in January. The first night, the Let it Ride table was a $10 minimum. Since nobody was playing, I asked the pit boss if the minimum bet could be lowered to $5. He flat out said no. The next night and for the balance of the cruise, the minimum bet was $5 but the table was still empty. I can only assume that part of the reason was that it was in a non-smoking section and because of the one hand rule while picking up the cards. It is quite awkward and slows down the game.

We were in cabin 14152 (spa mini-suite). The balcony was the smallest I've ever experienced in 16 cruises!

Smoking inside your stateroom or on your balcony will result in a $250 cleaning charge added to your onboard account.
Is this the only penalty for smoking on a balcony? If so, I can imagine many people would just pay it to smoke.

Thanks for the info. I did a quick look but haven't found the thread yet. If you should find it, would you please post it? Thanks!

I recently booked a cruise through CAS. I was comped an Ocean View stateroom but upgraded to a mini-suite. I thought I only had to pay the port charges and taxes plus the cost of the upgrade. Surprisingly, I was charged a $250pp "Guest Fare" in addition to the port charges, taxes and upgrade.
So, my total per person included $250 Guest Fare, the upgrade fee and port charges and taxes.
Does anyone know anything about the Guest Fare?
I emailed CAS but have gotten no response.

Yes, it is quite awkward and uncomfortable! I had to remind the dealer numerous times to deal to my right as I couldn't do it at all with my left hand. If you forget and accidently use 2 hands, you are immediately reprimanded by the dealer!

Wow! I'm so suprised! I regularly play in Parx, Valley Forge and Atlantic City. Was in Las Vegas last January at MGM and on the Gem last February....have never encountered this until this January on the Breakaway. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for your thoughts! I was thinking maybe it was to stop those players who have to go through all kinds of maneuvers before looking at their cards....I'm sure you all know what I mean!

After many years of playing Let it Ride in the various NCL casinos, I recently played it on the Breakaway. Quite to my surprise and disappointment, there was a new rule that I had never encountered. While playing cards, the players may only use one hand to pick up their cards. Myself and the other players found it to be quite awkward. My question is, is this a rule only on the Breakaway or has this rule spread throughout the fleet? Does anyone know why this would be put into effect?

We had 2 spa mini-suites on the Breakaway (01/18/15-01/30/15). I can't imagine that the balcony on the balcony cabins could be any smaller than the ones we had! They were ridiculously small. Also, the cabin itself was much more narrow than on the Dawn, Gem, Jewel and Pearl. We were quite disappointed in the size of the mini-suite. Only good part was the bathroom! The bathroom was a very nice size and the shower was quite large.

Just off the Breakaway on January 30th. I found the drink options confusing in the casino. I asked for a list but was told one was not available. Merlot is permitted but there is a surcharge for Pinot Noir. No martinis permitted. Pellagrino (large bottle) not permitted. When I say drinks are not permitted, they are not free. There is a surcharge involved.

I just came off the Breakaway on January 30, 2015. The UDP was offered on the cruise but we did not get it. We did however dine in some of the specialty restaurants. None of them seemed extremely busy.

After prebooking show reservations, dates and times of the shows are changed for the January 18 cruise. Had to rebook all of the shows.

The last time I cruised, all passengers were told they could not use the elevators for the muster drill. How are handicapped passengers handled?
Cas dinners no longer include wine?

Rochelle, where did you hear the change in CAS comps for regular cabins for those sailing solo? And when will it be implemented?
