  1. Here's my opinion:

NCL is not ready to sit back on its laurels. It hasn't established itself as a great line yet. It has made leaps since Sheehan took it from a terrible reputation to a player. But for many who haven't tried since then, it still has a leftover perception of being a very "budget" line that wasn't very good. In addition, it has gotten very good for the price for what you get, not very good at any price. It hasn't clearly been a front runner with an excellent reputation long enough for it to start going backwards and undoing some of its steps forward. Take away that it usually prices well below other lines and make pricing equal or take enough away and it's going to falter big time.

Same with JetBlue. It's okay. Still viewed as decent if price is right and it has free bags. Take away lowest price and free bags and JetBlue will falter too.

You do know jet blue is now charging for bags on a new price tier system?

  2. You better rethink that as I'm sure ending their relationship w/ Carlo's is next.... "for your convenience"

You are actually correct. His cakes are way overpriced and stale by day 3. Also, Like the gelato stand It is never busy. Get rid of both and open a H[emoji102]TERS [emoji3]

  3. Strange state you live in. Where I live, your DL name has to match the documentation. Or, do I just live in a police state? Hmmm.

If I were you I would call your TA or NCL. Just to play it safe.

I always recommend getting a passport anyway. Even though you can get onboard with a DL and BC. If you or a member of your party need to end your journey prematurely. That Passport becomes your best friend.

  4. As of now Escape is scheduled for next week. To dock along side Meyer Wreft outfitting wet dock.

Also Ovation is scheduled for 2nd mega block to enter Building 6. For the 2nd week in Aug.

Escape would have to leave to make room for OoTS to be blocked. Not to mention the timeline would be in line with BA & GA float out's timeline.

  5. If I wasnt desperately trying to heal this nasty plantar fasciitis in my left foot I promise I'd be running circles outside. I'm so excited I can't stand myself! This is our first NCL sailings and we're jumping all-in. I love Disney, it's forever ingrained in my soul.....but there's only so many times I can watch the same shows, eat the same foods, go to the same places, meet the same characters, etc etc. I'm beyond ecstatic to have a whole new world to research. So much we haven't done! Can't wait to drink it all in! <----and with the free UBP the hubby & I will be drinking en masse. Now to get caught up on all the lovely details about this amazing ship! I'm itchy for those here who are on the inaugural sailings to go, come back, and drown us in pictures, video, and glowing reviews!!!!

As a former PF sufferer. Try going to a Chiropractor. I was in disbelief when I was told go to one. Best advice ever... Did more to take away the pain than any Dr. was able to do for years.

If you can, just give it a try.

  6. Not sure if it's true or not but our family would fit this description. DH and I have a bill at or close to $0 most of the time (not counting the DSC). Some of our adult kids are big spenders though, especially those that especially enjoy spa treatments and the casino.

We fit this bill to the "T" we do not drink alcohol, really don't gamble. And if it was not for the free UDP. We would maybe eat in the MDR or Buffet instead of a extra fee restaurant.

  7. I'll preface by stating I've been on 11 Disney cruises & 1 Royal Caribbean.

Hubby & I are seriously looking at jumping on the Getaway in September kinda last minute. I was thinking we'd grab the semi-free (:p) UBP to offset our usual carrying booze onboard w/Disney. I would prepay the DSC/gratuities.

I read so much about all the upcharge things. We aren't big foodies. We don't gamble. I can't imagine I'd do much shopping onboard. May buy a picture or 2 to mark the occasion. Generally our expenses come from what we spend in ports. All that said, would it be realistic to think we wouldn't spend a whole boat-load of $$ onboard?

I read a thread once on a different website among Disney cruise fans asking what's the lowest onboard balance everyone had closed out at. How about NCL? All you regulars out there, do you end a cruise with a low onboard balance??? Is it realistic to think we could do a whole week cruise as described without a ton of bleeding from our wallets in onboard "nickel & dime-ing"?

    Thanks muchly.

This post is the perfect example of the exact demo that NCL no longer wants on there fleet. They want DINKS and millennials.

They want those who SPEND. And there campaigning for it aggressively.

  8. Celebrity chef and host of several reality based cooking shows Gordon Ramsey is looking to take his English gastro pub concept to sea.

Chef Ramsey, owner of Gordon Ramsey restaurant group LLC. (GRRG) has been in negotiations with an undisclosed major U.S. based cruise line. An official announcement is slated for early August.
