Scattering remains

Does anyone know if it is legal to scatter the ashes of a loved one on Huahine, Riaitea, or Bora Bora?

Are you in international waters when sailing between the islands of Tahiti, Huahine, Rangiroa, Riaitea and Bora Bora?

There has been discussion of this in the past - not specific to French Polynesia.

The definition of international waters seems to vary from 12 miles off shore to rather less. It would be at the discretion of the Captain of the ship based on the itinerary and his interpretaion of the rules even if the cruise line's policy allowed it.
