To check bags or Carry on?

I am trying to find out if the Air Tahiti Nui accomodates roller bags as carry on. I went to their web site and it says combined dimensions (length+width+height) no more than 45 inches. Are they comparable to American's bins?

Sorry, I don't know the answer, but I don't think you can get away with a checked bag going to Tahiti. Bear in mind that everything like cosmetics and toiletries are very expensive there, so you want to take them. A big bottle of sunscreen, for example. In this day and age, you have to check stuff like this.
