Nice Beach Just a Cab Ride Away?

My husband and I are planning on staying in OSJ for a few days pre cruise. I would like to spend one of our days at a beach. Is there one we can take a cheap cab ride to? Most important is the ability to get a cab ride back to our hotel when we're ready. I know there are a lot of nice hotels but am not sure if we're able to use their beaches by renting chairs and buying drinks. Thanks!
