River Boats - Tandem Docking

I posed a question to the Tauck Tours President about tandem docking of river boats and how that practice affects the mobility challenged.

Thanks for asking Walt. We are still hoping that the cities will add better access at the river edge as time goes on. The lines obviously see an interested group as the boats are changing and adding accessible cabins and elevators. I would love to spend a lot of money all along the Danube myself.

I hate tandem docking! No river cruise company will make any promises about how often it will happen. As I cannot climb steep wet stairs, I'm avoiding River cruising.
