tinker Posted September 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2004 We leave on 10/2 and wondering how the seas were for the past couple of sailings from the U.S. East coast. Did you use the pool deck the first sea day? Any other weather info or packing tips please.
KenBenz Posted September 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2004 We sailed out of Boston on August 29th & the weather was spectacular. Pool deck was full on Sunday in port & all day Monday too. A bit windy after midnite each nite, but extremely smooth seas. Ken
margaretmerrill Posted September 9, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 9, 2004 Sailed out of Philadelphia on Aug 28, and the sea was very smooth all the way down. It was hot enough that people were by the pool. Coming back, it was gray and cloudy from the hurricane, but not cold, and people were still by the pool. The last morning it did sprinkle though. Coming back wasn`t as smooth but wasn`t bad at all.
blueberry2 Posted September 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2004 cruised on the 4th from Bayonne. First day was overcast and very very windy. the pool was closed- but the pool water was splashing up into the hot tubs so that you felt like you were in a warm hurricane. Most people could not sit out and many jackets were worn. The seas were a little rocky felt by many. Coming home was smooth but still pretty windy- abloe to sit out but once in the hottub had to go below and get dressed.
Host Kewlguy Posted October 4, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 4, 2004 Cruised out of Bayonne on 9/18. Seas were extremely rough due to the after affects of Ivan. We had 40-50 mph winds. Half the ship was in their cabin due to sea sickness for a day and a half. We were fine though. That makes two storms out of four cruises so far for us. This one was nothing compared to our first cruise dealing with the storm from hell.
ecowen Posted October 5, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 5, 2004 Just back from Bermuda (Zenith 9/25/04) and the weather was spectacular coming and going. Seas were like glass. Not a drop of rain. Not windy. Warm, in the 80's, and sunny every day, including both sea days. This is the first time I've ever had such perfect weather on a cruise!
