Kauai Luau

We are going to be spending a week on Kauai in March and were thinking of going to the Smith Family Luau or The Luau Kalamaku. Has anyone been to either of these before? Honest opinions and personal experiences needed please :)

If I am thinking correctly... they are two different experiences.

So, preference is what might be the key in this decision.

The Smith Family Luau is more of a traditonal Luau.

And, I am thinking that the Luau Kalamaku is more of a theatrical staged production show.

The people on the Kauai board and the reviews and photos of these Luau's on the trip advisor forum should be very helpful!

I wanted to see the big theatrical show.. but the dates did not work out for us.

We saw the Luau where we were staying at the Grand Hyatt Kauai. It was good, but I am sure it would not compare to either of the ones you are considering.

We went to Smith's and really enjoyed it. The buffet was pretty good and the show as well. We did a video on the luau on our YouTube Channel.

Nice. I am probably leaning towards Smith's since I have heard so many good things about it.
