Any evening entertainment options suitable for tweens?

I have been reading and researching through threads on this board. We will be in Havana for two days with an overnight in August. Does anyone have suggestions for something for us to do with our 12yo son in the evening that involves local music/dancing? He is a budding musician. Thanks in advance. Still planning out our days, but would still like to experience a bit of the "nightlife" if possible.

If he’s not too shy the Tropicana is a fun throwback to the 1950s- I say not too shy because there are a bunch of showgirls running around but they’re frankly more clothed than most women on the beach these days. There’s also the “Buena Vista Social Club” show at the Nacional- put in quotes because it’s not the same band you listen to on the album but more of a commercial recreation. Still good music though. In the totally G rated category there’s a great trio of strolling musicians who play for tips in the afternoons on the back patio of the Hotel Nacional overlooking the ocean.

There are a ton of live music opportunities in Havana- these are some of the bigger and more obvious ones but there are plenty of small bars and paladars that have live music daily.
