Bid on upgrades

Can someone tell me how this works and if y’all received and upgrade off the bidding process?

You bid

You wait

You either get upgraded or you do not

How long do u really wait to see if u get accepted? What do you think r my chances if I took my bid to fair?

Last year went from a balcony to a 2 bedroom suite for a bid not far above minimum.

Sorry to be so specific, but how / when does the opportunity arrive exactly? (ex. Via email around a month before sail date )

I believe you receive the opportunity to bid when you'e at 80 days out. Here's a link to a thread you might find very helpful.

Log into MyNCL at about the 80-day mark and you will see a banner saying Lets Get You Upgraded. Remember though that on some sailings, not everyone will get an invitation to bid for an upgrade. You will be fine. What I normally do is bid an amount near the bottom of the fair range and let it sit while I wait to see what all goes on as far as unbooked cabins for the cruise. You can modify your bid at any point as long as it has not already been accepted.
