Queen Mary 2 stranded by storm?

At 7:30 am edt, the CBC news indicated from Halifax that the Queen Mary will not be able to land in Sydney Nova Scotia today (the 20th) and Corner Brook Newfoundland tomorrow due to a huge storm. I am off to Quebec City Wednesday where she is due at 6:00 pm, I do hope the Queen will not show up early causing me to miss her arrival.

Yes, she is supposed to be 1 day early now. Arriving Tuesday, 6 pm and leaving Wednesday, 6 pm. Heard it on the news this morning.

Never posted on Cunard before.......but I watched CanadaAM on CTV this morning when Beverley Thompson,one of their anchors,was supposed to do a "live" broadcast from the QM2.As previous posters have said, the ship could not dock and is now on it's way to Quebec where Bev will presumably report(after how many flutes of champagne,remains to be seen,LOL!).She did at least sound very cheerful and not in the least bothered by the huge waves.

Apparently,the weather was so bad in Sydney,NS,that there was a power outage due to the high winds.To be honest,I don't know if the bad weather was due to a local storm or the effect of the hurricanes going up the East Coast.

I will now return to my regular "haunt" on HAL.Nice meeting you all.

I think this storm is "the end" of Ivan...

Does anyone know if the arrival and/or departure at Halifax for the Queen Mary 2 has been changed? It is due in on Saturday at noon and out Sunday afternoon. It is my plan to travel by train to Halifax for the sole purpose of seeing the ship.

If you miss QM2 this time round, she is doing the same cruise again, leaving New York 29th Sept. I'm hoping the weather will have improved by then.

This morning the news on the radio say she will leave Quebec City on Wednesday 11pm.
