Considering the Rhine on Gate 1 next summer. They offer a 4 hour trip to Colmar. Has anyone opted for the excursion with Gate 1 or similar.... any thoughts? Looks like a nice area to explore.

thanks in advance.

Definitely go! We went with Avalon about 5 years ago. It is a beautiful town with lots of history.

Colmar is well worth a visit. Whether I would go or not depends on what's available in lieu of the option if one doesn't go.

I'd say that the Colmar Pocket excursion is a must.

I did it earlier this year.

There are a few photographs in my review, just need to scroll down to the Itinerary section...

I visited Colmar as an optional tour on Viking in 2014. It was one of my favorite towns to visit. We had a great guide who add so much to the tour. This was one of my favorite optional tours!
