Best Western in Newark to Cape Liberty

Need advice! We have a reservation for a room for $88 + tax to stay at the Best Western near EWR the night before we sail on VOS 10/02/05. We won't have a car to park. They offer a package that would cost about $149 + tax for three people to stay in one room and be transported round trip to the port. My question is, is it cheaper for us to pay $149+tax then for us to pay $88+tax plus the cost of a taxi to the port? The hotel said it would cost $50 one way from the hotel to the port. That sounds high. Are there any hotels closer to the port so we could avoid this added transportation fee since we're already paying for a car service to bring us from LAG to Newark. Thanks for the advice!
