fascination 5/10 Posted April 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2004 Hi... Does anyone know where you arrange for a shuttle from the Ft. Lauderdale airport to the Miami cruise dock? We're flying in on JetBlue, and think this is the best way to get there. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks! Dying to get out of the snow!

fascination 5/10 Posted April 6, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted April 6, 2004 Do you have to make arrangements in advance, or can you just find a shuttle at the airport?
bab Posted April 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2004 I could be wrong but I believe that you need to contact your TA or Carnival ahead of time and tell them you would like to purchase the transfer and then the transfer tickets will come with your documents. At least, the last time we purchased them we did it ahead of time. You might be able to purchase at the airport but I'm just not sure.
SheSailsFL Posted April 6, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 6, 2004 You will have no problem finding a shuttle at the FLL airport to get you to the Miami port. There is a service called Super Shuttle - they have bright blue vans and will take you to the Miami port for about $25. They are also available at the pier to return you to the FLL airport. You can purchase a round-trip ticket and let them know when you need to be picked up at the pier on your return. Happy Sailing! Rdabadie Posted April 6, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 6, 2004 In addition to super shuttle you can also do a "shared cab" ride for about $16 pp. You simply walk up to the desk on the curb and tell them where you want to go. They give you a slip, the wait is guaranteed to be less than 1/2 hour. This can turn into a milk-run, picking up and dropping off people along the way, but often you get combined with a bunch of other people heading to the port as well. Do this only if you're not in a rush to get to the port. This is really the best option for single travellers, but if there's a group of you price out getting your own cab to the port, generally if there's more than 3 of you, grab your own cab (also, talk to the people around you at baggage claim, you might be able to split a cab and make new friends before you're even on the ship) Rob Regal Empress 7/97, Nordic Empress 10/97, Sensation 11/98, Paradise 11/99, Ecstasy 11/00, Norway 5/01, Triumph 11/01, Explorer of the Seas 9/02, Paradise 5/
Shipbound Posted April 6, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 6, 2004 Before 911 I use to take the supper shuttle from Miami to the docks or the share ride from FLL to the docks since than because of security I think using CCl transportation may be quicker. serene56 Posted April 6, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 6, 2004 If you are flying in the same day as the cruise I would think the carnival shuttle is your best bet. Ask your travel agent to make those arrangements for you. fascination 5/10 Posted April 6, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted April 6, 2004 Do you think we can book this by calling Carnival directly? I booked our cruise online rather than through a travel agent? Thanks for all the advice!
