goeurope Posted August 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2006 Does anyone have any experience with cruising Antarcita with Norwegian Coastal Voyages? Or taken any cruises with them? I haven't cruised in Antarctica with them, but last month I did a Spitsbergen cruise in the Arctic, and I've published an extensive review and day-by-day photo diary at: http://europeforvisitors.com/cruises/reviews/spitsbergen-cruise.htm Caveat: My cruise was on the NORDSTJERNEN, a small vintage ship that isn't used in Antarctica. NCV uses larger and newer ships in the Southern Hemisphere. However, there are similarities: Both the NORDSTJERNEN and the larger ships have Norwegian crews, for example, and the food and general shipboard atmosphere shouldn't be too different. 911boss Posted August 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted August 16, 2006 Hi there. We did a northbound trip afew years ago on the Nordkapp. Couldn't have been happier. The ship was great, food and people great etc. We are booked on the Nordnorge (sister ship) on nov 29 for Antarctica. We are really excited over this one. If you are just thinkinf about it right now, you better do some fast checking as they might all be sold out. Let me know if I can be of further help. goeurope Posted August 19, 2006 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2006 If you have a lot of time and enjoy sea days, you can even do a repositioning cruise (actually, it may be two cruises) from Norway to South America, where the Antarctica cruises begin.
