Olympia and Acropolis: catching an official guide on the spot?

Hello fellow cruisers!

We will be cruising in November and stopping in both Athens (Piraeus) and Olympia (Katakolon). It will be our first time there. We would like to see the archeological sites in both places, but organized excursions seem a bit expensive so far... so, I thought maybe we could get to the archeological sites on our own (for example, using the X80 bus) and paying for our entrance tickets there. I was just wondering if we could catch an official guide on the site there, because we'd really prefer to have someone to explain what we are seeing, giving us some history and details about the site. Is that doable? And we don't really want to go to the museums, so we don't really care not having a guide for that. Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks!
