Diamond Feb. 19 From Sydney = Anyone Going?

We just booked this cruise tour on the Diamond Princess, which starts on FEB. 19, 2006 with a six day tour (Sydney, Ayers Rock, Alice Springs, Cairns, Sydney). We then board the ship on FEB 25 - Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Fiordland National Park, Dunedin, Christchurch, Tauranga, & finally Auckland.

Anyone also booked on this trip? Has anyone done a similar tour &/or cruise & have advice on "must sees"?

We did this cruise on the Sapphire Princess last Christmas/New Year which we thoroughly enjoyed.... a very relaxing cruise.

I have written a ports of call review here on the Aust/NZ board so just looked down the page until you find it plus I have some pics available to view, not fully finished uploading them yet, they are in my signature.

The Sapphire is a replica of the Diamond so if you have any specific questions about the ship just ask and I will try to answer them.

Goldplated, look for the Australia/New Zealand Feb,25th thread.There are many going on this particular cruise,but not a 6 day pre cruise tour.

It is a very informative thread.We have several Aussies and Kiwis going on this cruise.They are giving us valuable info about tours and sightseeing.

Hi Goldplated, great to hear you are to visit NZ. We can help out with suggestions of what to do and see in your NZ ports of call. Our home Port is Tauranga which is where we have the most info on, though we can suggest stuff to do in the other ports.
