Hull verandah for an April crossing.

Is this a wise choice?

Are you worried that the weather will be too cold/choppy to enjoy the verandah? So you would instead go with an ocean view or an inside?

More than likely it will be chilly out there at that time of year, and I think a verandah is great no matter the weather... just know that some do not enjoy the B-6's because they can not sit in the cabin and see the water the way you can in the upper (glass enclosed) balconies.
