Hi, I just put a deposit on this cruise, We're planning to go for our honeymoon! :). I haven't seen it mentioned on here yet so I thought I'd put it here so other people could comment if they're going or we can discuss options for tours.

10 days from October 9th.

I hope we can do a few special things for our honeymoon, champagne, a nice dinner, maybe take on some chocolates.

Does it cost to get an icebucket to the room?

Hi Fitzroy

Welcome and congratulations on the upcoming wedding.

You don't need to pay for ice in your room.

Make sure you let your travel agent/P&O know it is your honeymoon and you MIGHT get something special. They will usually put a sign up on the cabin door and possible balloons. On our last cruise there were a few honeymooners and also birthday people.

Make sure you get to know your cabin staff. Ours have always been friendly and helpful and am sure would "arrange" your cabin one night with anything you give them such as the champagne or chocolates. You might even get complimentary stuff. Who knows.

We have not been on the Sun, but on the Sky we elected to have dinner at the outback grill, I think it was about $15 per person and we were the only ones there so was very "romantic" except a bit breezy. Not sure what the Sun offers.

Congrats on your happy news! I am going on the 9 Oct cruise too and am very excited about it! I have worked on a Royal Carribean cruise ship in 2002 in the bahamas for a few months - it has taken me this long to want to get back on one - it is very different being a crew member than being a guest!!! I know you will have a wonderful time!!! Maybe we can meet up for a drink!!

Cheers,

Heidi

Hey! Yes it is exciting, 64 days from today!! :). We've finished paying for it now, I hope the cabin has a double bed, though I've heard you usually get two singles and put them together. ANYWAY I'm sure we'll have fun.

What day trips are you planning heidi? I was wondering about a nice hotel in sydney for the night before or after too. maybe something with a spa, anyone know of one of those?

as the pacific sun berths in darling harbour , check out the hotels in this area. There are the big names like the novotel or even Star City(casino). It depends on your budget.

whereabouts do you live?

if you need any further help just post here

karon

Regarding shore tours - I have found a site with heaps of info on each island and what is best to do there - from experience it is cheaper to organise your own day trips than to use the cruiseline's excursions but it does depend on your budget. You are also risking your money if you don't actually get to that port - the ship would refund but anywhere else wouldn't. I can email you the info I put together about each port if you like? I am still researching so I haven't made any decisions yet!
